Grumpy Owly wrote:Posting in the hope for a candidacy view on the following: Bounty Hunting
There have been so many good suggestions for Bounty Systems and still we've yet to see a viable solution implimented to both secure the system from abuse and to create a "proper" mini profession out of Bounty Hunting. Alot of CSMs candidates have supported various Bounty ideas but they're still sitting rotting in the to-do vault at a secret location in the CCP lair.
As a supporter of mini professions this topic interests me and I'm definately willing to support it again. Two interesting conversations with Dierdra Vaal and Evelgrivion who've both come up with similar ideas on Bounty Hunting last week reignited my hope that there is a solution - and Evel's idea from his blog follows:
Evelgrivion wrote:Fixing the Bounty system It occurred to me the other day that everything that is wrong with the bounty system can be expressed in a single sentence:
"Bounties don't work because the payouts are worth more than the clones."
Now that implants are included in pod-mails, the market value of a destroyed clone is public knowledge; this has created an opportunity to implement a new bounty system. As the nature of the current problem is that a friend or an alt can claim an outstanding bounty, the fix is actually relatively straightforward; change the mechanics of bounty payment to only supply a portion of the value of each clone and treat the total bounty on a pilot's head as a payout pool.
With a proportional payout pool, pilots will no longer be able to take a bounty for themselves without suffering more in losses than payouts. By supplying small payments rather than a lump sum, a new incentive is created to keep podding a given pilot as long as there's money in the bounty pool.
Voila! The eternally broken bounty system is fixed!
Combined with suggestions from posters like Malcanis and Lana Torrin (whos original thread alot of us supported during CSM4 and CSM5) we've got a pretty solid foundation for a decent system. As I'm not a professional bounty hunter nor have I spent much time in this profession (although I've been on the recieving end ) I must rely on others who do and I'm open to suggestions from those in the know aslong as they're relevant. While all these suggestions could be potential fixes to the current system theres possibly some room left for increasing the viability of this being a fulltime profession if a pilot so wished - some sort of non-isk but i have a big ***** reward that can be shown off to all and sundry.
Do you have any suggestions you'd like to share? T'amber for CSM7 - Putting the Adam back into Eve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=65862

ty for your responce regarding BH. Have posted your views in the linked thread.
T'amber Anomandari Demaleon wrote:Do you have any suggestions you'd like to share?
I originally posted a number of concerns about the complaicancy and lack of credibility to a responce to criminal behaviour and how it afforded a bias of care and afforded lack of risk and adaption by the criminal.
Whilst at the same time hoping to promote a missing element of the game that had been overlooked for sometime that could expand on gameplay and encourage more fun into EvE.
If anything to make the process more interactive and consequential with some validity.
This was as I was aware of numerous postings in the feature and ideas forum to the extent of repairing the BH process.
As a result Malcanis posted his thread during that dialouge and it seemed to represent my thoughts to a potential soultion. As such I was happy to use it as a basis of understanding rather than re-invent the wheel for the same purposes.
As such happy to generate further dialouge and refinement. But my goal is to afford awareness ultimatley to CCP to address what I feel is an issue that has been swept under the carpet for such a long time that people have become apathetic to it as an issue yet whilst still having a significant understanding that the current system is ineffective and exploitable.

I doubt you need a press secretary really. Though be interested in offers seeing as we are now talking about head hunting in more than one way. ;)
Can't really comment on your other associations unless you qualify them.

Good luck and all that - I actually like the idea of a transferrable & configurable paint pattern module (or rig), would like to see you help make something like that happen.

I think that ship customization would be neat, as long as it doesn't get to the point of hurting game mechanics (ship looking t1 actually being t2). And the detachable windows would be nice for mining. |

Exactly.
I've held off my opinions on this matter until after my survey has reached a sufficient amount to be even remotely relevant so that I can take other peoples ideas into consideration.

So what do you plan to do to help incursions as part of CSM7?
Do you plan to push hard for implementation of the modular Corp and POS system so that smaller corps can isolate potential spiez without shutting them out of everything if they are indeed legit?
Could we count of CSM7 to SERIOUSLY push the botting and RMT issue? I am sick of tired of hearing people say "Nothing CCP can do bout it" And even alliances having rules against reporting Blue Bots. |

I like the ideas and would love love love to see the ship customization in game. I especially appreciate the work you went to in making the mock ups. However, Mittens does have a point while your platforms are A+++ your electability is called into question by past decisions on your part. |

Ship painting should be a service available in any npc station, and should be isk based, relatively affordable, and the design should be able to be saved like a fitting. The only thing alliances and corporations should be able to own the rights to are their logo's, and the customization process should be like the character editor, with a vast, flexible, but not unlimited range of options, to prevent having that one guy who draws a ***** on the side of his dominix. (looks at that one guy with dissapointment). T1's should be able to bare the same designs as t2's, and t2's should be signified with noticeable structural differences, such as a Thorax compared to a Phobos.
That's my take on ship customization.
(Also, I think leaving in the old textures on ships that already exist is a brilliant idea. On an unrelated note, I believe that two monocles is not enough. Players should be free to wear monocles ON their monocles if the desire. Quadruple monocles are the way of the feature) |
