Is their any value in being a hulk miner in 0.0?
I have worked the skills and now use a hulk with miner ii for Bisot and other minerals. I understand the basic market mechanics of supply and demand but it seems that since the new regions have come on-line, the price for hi-ends has really tanked as has the demand; my location does have strong competition and lots of miners.
Unless I start to delve into Manufacturing (T1 items, in particular ships) û casual hulk mining does not seem as lucrative as it once did.
Thoughts on this?

Not as super profitable as it used to be (up to 60mil an hour mining in secured 0.0 space) but it's still very lucrative.
Unfortunately, no one has a time machine (and if they were a market discussion regular, they'd keep it to themselves) so what seemed good some months ago, doesn't always stay good. If you feel the market has changed too much for you, change with it, or change to something else.

how are you making 60 an hour. I know you can't answer that but I am at a loss on that one.

The thing is, 0.0 mining used to be able to earn 60million an hour. It no longer does as Megacyte and Zydrine prices have tanked because of the supplies from the drone regions. The minerals of the day were Crokite, Arkonor and Bistot, back in the day when Zydrine prices were 4300+ easily.
I'd say if you're making 25-35mil an hour off of mining, you're doing pretty damn fine and dandy.
P.S. For the record, never ever assume you know more than anyone else, if you're wrong, it makes you look very narrow sighted and opens you up to mockery.

I'll agree with May unless you have exhumers 5 and are mining mercoxit in a skiff with ubber skills. When you say miner ii's i'm hoping you mean strip miner ii's.
BTW my corp is recruiting miners for secure 0.0 space.

nownownow... a 1500m¦ hulk does slightly more than 30mil/h with either crokite, bistot or arkonor currently.
and then there was the re-coding of the gang module; that cycle time bonus rocks especially with a rorqual around (and that mindlink implant in the pilot's head :o ). so it has merely become more of a team-effort, but 45mil/h is totally doable. - putting the gist back into logistics |

Mind you, I don't know whether or not mercoxit is oversupplied (I think it is). Almost might want to try one of those spiffy new mining missions.
