06:04:56 Notify You are unable to jump through the jump portal, as you do not have access to do so. Either join the corporation or obtain the starbase force field password.
That didn't take long:(

This is the intended error message you should receive if the following condition is true:
You are NOT in the corporation owning the starbase, and you do NOT have the correct starbase force field password set on your ship.
If the above is not the case, please file a detailed bug report, and make sure to include a logserver file from when it occurred. Additionally, information about what settings are on the Starbase (corp access / alliance access etc) would be beneficial.
If you need instructions on creating a good bug report, please read here.

And? Does that means you can't use the jump bridge of another corp anymore? ------------------------------------------

You have always had to enter the starbase password if you were not a member of the owning corp. So unless you still cant use it after you enter the password its is working as its supposed to. Also remember that you need to reenter starbase passwords after a session change, so that means it needs to be entered everytime you use it.
Thanks,
Deep Six

From the patch notes: "An issue with jump bridges not working for non-corporation members has been identified and resolved."
As far as the change goes, it is not something that would cause you to be unable to jump where you previously could. Instead of not seeing the option to jump (how it was previously), you now see the option regardless. If there is some reason you cannot jump, you see why - in the form of an error message.

Edited by: Eacham Graeme on 19/12/2007 14:20:45 Actually there does appear to be a bug with the Jump bridges still. On log-in today,(this applies to my entire jump bridge network) at least one bridge was offline, which required me to unlink the other end, offline it, and then relink and reonline the bridges again.
I am currently in the process of reonlining my bridge network and will be able to test it with alliance members in a few more minutes. I have submitted a petition as well on this matter.

Wow those damn JBs are down more then they are up. You can only use them about 3h after DT since the entire network has to be offlined, played around with, kissed and hugged and then maybe at about 1600 EVT you can hope that they will be up again.
Been that way since they were introduced and was reported countless times and had countless GMs working on the problem with no results.
Any plan on fixing them like... properly?
Sry for *****ing around but sometimes it really gets under my skin that CCP introduces new graphics engines but for other things that are more important, they takes years (yes, years.. like with the drones). I know it's not the same people designing graphics as the ones that fix these bugs but in all the devblogs they were always saying that trinity would fix so many things (and before it Rev II, Rev I, etc.) but still the most crappy bugs seem to be fixed last. |

Do you have any idea how stupid it is to have to give out and set passwords for god knows how many pos's. This is an absulotly stuipd idea.

When did petitions become the new bug report.
And SIGN pos shield PW for JB PW is wicked dumb.
In CCP terms that is like giving someone your full api key when all they want to do is see how many SP you have.

Let me convey an idea to you.
In game notepad;
PosName1:PosPassword1 - SystemName PosName2:PosPassword2 - SystemName PosName3:PosPassword3 - SystemName PosName4:PosPassword4 - SystemName
Get the idea? Good.
Coupled with copy and paste action, that takes very little effort to give out the password.
But yes, having to give out the password for jump bridge access is stupid. -----

hmmm,
not sure if this is the right place to post this, as the OP would appear to be resolved, but the JB are actually broken still.
Whilst the patch seemed to have temporarily fixed the JBs, at DT today our JB went offline, and is now back to being broken.
Yes, I have updated my bug report and uploaded new screen shots, before anyone asks...

Well, I haven't heard of somebody not able to use our bridges, but during today's downtime, 2 bridges leading into our capital systems offlined themselves.
This did not affect the ones inside the capital, but the ones on the other end.

If you are experiencing issues with Jump Bridges going offline, please do file a bug report. Remember to include the location of the jump bridge and approximately what time it went offline.

I posted this in the previous jump bridge thread and it still holds true.
Quote: I invite any dev to join GoonFleet ingame so we can demonstrate the multiple issues with jumpbridges all over our space. Various jump bridge problems have gone on since they were first introduced, and I don't see them being fixed for good without devs experiencing the issues first-hand in a live environment.
This is continuing to happen after yesterdays patch.

Yes that's beautiful perfect for all the spys in the world to steal. If you had any decent size of a jump network (ie 20 or more bridges) and have member corps out the ass this is very unfeasible to do period. It needs to be standing/Set Roles for the Corps that have standings.
Oh and piles of jump bridges still went offline during last downtime even thou you said you fixed it.
