Am looking for some PVP setups for the Brutix. So far i've made 2 myself:
What do you think? will any of these two work? if so both? or only one(if so which)?
If you got another setup please feel free to post it.

The first one seems very good. That would work solo and in gangs.

I know it may sound odd, but on that gank setup maybe drop the cap booster for a large shield extender (donno if it will fit). Will give ya a little more buffer as you are in some heavy **** if you need a cap booster in that setup.

Only reason i used a cap booster in the gank setup is so that i can run everything expected the MWD as long as i got cap boosters in the cargo. Also my shield skills isn't too good. But thanks for the tip.

Train AWU5 or drop one ion for electron and change Accoms to T2 MARs. DPS difference is so small it won't have any noticeable effect in combat, while T2 MARs rep quite a bit more than Accoms, and they're a lot cheaper.

@Kaileen Starsong: Changed the PVP Tank setup. Removed on Ion and replaced it with an Electron. Then i replaced the named reps with the T2 ones, works, and my cap is still good to go.
@XrayZ: Its not allowed to post pics here you say?

Edited by: Voltron on 21/12/2007 13:12:59 Not used a tix since before rigs came out, the top setup is almost identical to what I used to run, only dif was I dropped one of the reps for a mag stab 2, killer setup for a t1 bc.

So its better to be able to tank some instead of just doing a lot of damage, and hope you will kill the opponent as fast as possible?

Before when NOS was heavily used you wanted high gank because your tank was doomed to failure. Now that NOS is not used as much I would rely more on tank then before. The first setup is identical to what I would fly however I would use a MWD II, all Electrons (for consistency) and MAR II. Throw on a couple nano pumps for rigs if you want (I wouldn't for the price of rigs and the benefit you get it's not worth it.) And there's your setup.

TBH, normal set-up is whack - if you're going with passive resists, go EANM II, DCU II, Magstab II, a LOT better. Else, go 3 x Active Hardeners, DCU II + 2 EANM IIs with maxed compensation skills will not give what actives give, and actives take very little cap. Only problem with the ship imo is cap, so train up cap skills, if you rig it 2 x aux nano pumps and then 1 x repair speed rig you can cycle reppers.

If you have good drone skills the blaster myrmi will still out tank and out gank a 5-slot tank brutix. If you start fitting damage mods on the brutix it will start to out-dps the myrmi, but the brutix can't out-gank the myrmi unless you cripple it's tank.

So you say that the Myrmidon will crush the brutix in anyway?

Only if you are playing EFT and not EVE. Drone DPS is quite nearly useless paper DPS. There is no good reason to use a myrm over the other BC's.

The myrmidon, as high-tech as it might look, won't stand a chance against a properly flown brutix in it's optimal range.
I've killed several myrms with my trusty brutix, and my kill-ratio is about 5 kills for every 1 death, so the statement about the myrmidon wtfpwning the brutix in actualy combat is a false one.
Please note that it was against equally skilled people, and one of the kills was performed while under sentryfire.
Happy Brutixing!

Mabye im just not right in the head but I have really enjoyed using a rail setup on my brutix recently for gangs above 6 people.
6x 200mm t2 rails named mwd, sb(locking time script) tracking comp(tracking script) 24km scram rep, 3x t2 active and a mag stab 2
fed navy anti gives 14km raneg. spike give 55km range

Edited by: Slyton Silur on 23/12/2007 10:23:55 I tested out the latest "tank" setup against a drake from my corp yesterday, and it seemed like i would have won until he came up to the last 20-30% of his shield, i did not have enough DPS at the end to go through it, and when my cap boosters went empty i was out.
Tried to fit 2xmagstabs instead of the energized membranes, but then my tank didn't seem to hold that good anymore. So either i need to train some skills or there is something wrong with my setup. Of course, i do not now if brutix's are supposed to take down drakes. Also it may have helped with T2 drones.
So any tips will be appreciated.

Drake is going to have a better tank than you no matter what you do, it's a higher tier BC and it's shield tank is probably the best tank out of all BCs. Don't get upset, I love my Brutix, but after some time there are so many things you can do with it.

Myrm will be better, but only marginally. You're looking at a good 50dps and 50 dps tanked increase with the same fitting over a Brutix, and an extra mid, but that's with all level 5 skills. This is with all T2 fittings as well.

Don't mind it having better tank than me, what upset me was that i didn't manage to get through its shield, or at last it seemed i wouldn't get through. Because i ran out of cap boosters as i said.

What do you think Drakes tank with, hull reppers and a DCU?
There is fighting, and then there is fighting: Some weapons are more useful than others, and not all battles must be won. |

Ah dude please, am not stupid. I know that drakes shield tank. What am after her is tips which can help me take down the drake, if its possible for a brutix.

If his Drake is setup with the ridiculous passive tank as most of them are, you won't be able to break it with a mix of electrons and ions and tank. Your best chance solo in this case IMO would be fit gank neutron setup & medium ECM drones. Fly balls out and hope you keep jamming him. Don't bother orbiting him or anything, keep him at your optimal and just hope for the best. You can always get out against Drakes setup with the uber tanks cause they don't have enough slots for either a web or scram anyways.
Good Luck

If the Drake is setup for uber tank, you will need 800 Kinetic/Thermal DPS to break its tank. Your never going to achieve that in a brutix. The Drake will just sit there and laugh, and eventually you will have to leave as you will be capped out. He however will not be able to hold you there.

To help break his tank fit a medium neut, turn your effects on and when you see the shield hardener effect disappear turn the neut off. If he is fitting the "are you ******* serious" passive tank this will knock out his resists for a good long while due to his slow cap recharge.

How long do you think you can run your neuts on your brutix for? Fitting neuts will lower your DPS, thus reducing your ability to kill the drake. Good luck to you if you think you can break the "are you ******* serious" drake tank with a brutix solo.
