Here's a thought, now that we have drone bandwidth , let us right click drones in space and (re)establish links to them.
I know it couldn't be done before because it would result in a frig having 5 heavies , but now they cant do that.
Would also help us Domi flyers who get boned by CTD

I was thinking make it work for any drone that has been abandoned, though this might cause a problem with the 5m dronebay frigs...

It's a nice idea but consider this.
Dominix deploys 15 sentry drones in various spots around a jump gate.
Target jumps in, gets tackled, and dominix starts firing active sentry drones at target. For whatever reason the target, or his/her friends, take off after the dominix.
The dominix then warsp 150km or so to the opposite side of the jump gate, or at least to a point along an angle that keeps it out of a bubble, reestablishes control over its drones, and continues to shoot whatever its target is. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Frankly, the tactic is one I'd love to employ and it'd go great with ishtars (faster warping, better base control range), but that sort of "micro-warp-to-avoid-damage" aspect that some people, heck a lot of people, might employ would be a dev concern I'm sure.

you can do it already..... just take some bm instead of placing drones everywhere
but if you mean to take control over so far drones, then no, it should be not allowed there should be a maximum range of course

Or help all the amateur nano-drones boats from failing when they offshoot.
This would be game-breaking boost to gangs made entirely of nano-ishtars.

It shouldn't be possible in the heat of battle, but if it took, say, ten seconds and required a huge chunk of cap, like onlining a module does, then that might be okay.
