Actually this is about as incorrect as one could possibly be. The truth is that t2 is as expensive as it is because if it were any cheaper, it would be more profitable to produce t1.
*pause for dramatic effect*
For example:
I can and do sell 25 ravens a week. BPO a bil, research a couple months. I can build something like 8 a day, which leaves me 4 days a week to build other things.
I have 5 t2 bpos, 3 of which are occasionally worth building when my factory slots have caught up with my more profitable stock. The best of them is currently Conflag L. You the purchaser might look at my Conflag L price that's 9x cost and say those damned T2 producers get away with gouging. I on the other hand look at the glacial build time and observe I can make better use of finite factory time building Mammoths at their comparatively paltry 115% markup. Or even better yet, Mallers are about twice as profitable selling at just a 15% markup.
Yeah, it's surprising to the uninitiated. Oh and compared to the Raven, Conflag L is 1/10 as profitable, for a much more expensive bpo with higher build skills.

It just doesn't work like that. You lock an inty that is trying to tackle a battleship 25km away. He starts taking fire and says "oh **** I'm dying". Then he either A) warps out or B) can't warp out because of lag and dies to your lasers. B) often happens.
it doesn't work like that either. An inty pilot that tries to warp deserves to die lol. Yeah if I were shooting at nubs I'd do well in a crap fitted retribution too.

Come on BoB guy, there are certain things people can do in assault frigates they can't in interceptors. Example:
Jaguar + Scimitar = Win
(WHY NOT USE A CRUSIER + SCIMITAR HURRR?)
Why? Because most BS + Cruisers think AF die in 2 seconds..

Ishkur is a lot of fun. AFs are useless in gangs but solo they still rock.

Why not give AFs role bonus of 250% AB speed boost, that would make t2 ab give 135% x 3.5 = 472% speed without sig rad penalty.
Also give them better maneuverability and that elusive 4th bonus.
That would make them really useful in small frig gangs and I bet ppl would start flying them more often.
I'm sorry, did I say u could speak ? |

Been out of game about a year and a half... all I see is Ravens now... EVERYWHERE. Used to see lots of AFs running abouts. the last day or 2 I've seen a max 10 AF's if that... compared to a couple hundred Ravens.
I personally liked the utility and effectiveness they had back when I first started playing(2003'ish). Seems lots has changed and most AFs have become obsolete in the group setting. They definitely need a overhaul, especially in the speed department. It seems most cruisers do just about the same base speed, and most cruisers have what, double the number of mid and high slots and cruisers? Where's the levity there? Who wouldnt go with a cruiser over a Frig in a heartbeat.

Originally by: Merin Ryskin Spot on, if you don't know about a little feature in EVE called "manual piloting". Maybe if all you know is "approach" and "orbit at optimal", you won't hit it. But in a ship with a speed advantage, all you have to do is fly manually and you can drop their transversal considerably. The best-case scenario is the AF pilot is able to catch the cruiser at the right moment in his turn, slip out of web range, and warp off. But unless the AF pilot wants to disengage, there's nothing he can do to keep decent transversal.
And that's ignoring the problem of getting into close orbit in the first place, against a ship with a speed advantage.
This is the problem when you dont read the whole of someones post in enough detail. You're actually agreeing with his point without realising.

wow just trained for enyo and I see it's yet another crappy anti-support ship, if fitted for close range it will die vs any competent pilot prolly.

OMG the retributionzzz owns two SABRE's!!!111
No need to boost AF's
I honestly don't know how anyone flies without an mwd and can use it effectively in multiple situations. ôHe who must expend his life to prolong life cannot enjoy it, and he who is still seeking for his life does not have it and can as little enjoy it.ö
