A snakenanomach is the only ship listed which I would place a bet on surviving more than five minutes solo.

Machariel is the closest thing to a solo-pwn mobile in eve atm.
6 x 800mm repeating artillery II. 2 x heavy neuts, or 2 x siege launchers. ( Republic fleet EMP/Fusion/PP L in cargo ) Dont use t2 ammo or you wont be able to hit anything.
warp disr, sens booster, cap booster, gist x-type 10mn mwd.
3 x OD t2, 1 x nanofiber, 2 x republic fleet gyrostabs, 1 x DCU II.
rigs: 1 x polycarb t2, 2 x polycarb t1
ECM drones, or combat, whatever suits you.
For this you need near perfect navigation skills (low-grade snake set), great gunnery( all level 4-5 ), minmatar bs lvl5, gallente bs lvl4, and good cap skills. Also shield management hull upg 5 if you have them it will give you a decent hp buffer.
This ship rules, and no other ship can dish out this ammount of punishment while being nanoed and having great survivability.
If you can get 2 of your mates to fly this setup with you and an inty or dictor to tackle, you can take on gangs of multiple BS's and break camps with little trouble if you know what you're doing and each fits a different form of EW in mids.
Have fun.

pick whichever style of flying you like, and if you arent experienced enough with the ship beforehand then buy a couple tempests and try them out first to get the hang of flying it.
Providing you can still fit 100MN MWD's to command ships the Sleipnir can double that Speed. Also - it has no tanking ship bonus so I completely fail to see how this ship would be massively superior to a Tempest in terms of tanking - it has 1 more low slot and 2500 more armour??? So it comes down to the old 4 billion on any BS is going to be extremely hard to *****.

If you're a noob and u dont know how to fight in nano-setups and really have no ideea how the tracking is done. I'll tell ya.
You turn on mwd just to gtfo or when taking heavy damage, to hit the target u actually have to turn off mwd and orbit. Fly a vaga and u'll see what I'm talking bout.

Vagabond != Nanomach
Afaik a nanomach is more like an ishtar then a vagabond. And most nanomach setup's use missiles and faction nos/neuts, who dont need tracking. Which concludes their designed to make fast circles around their target for ultimate sickness and death.

Flying completely solo will be your bane, only a matter of time before you run into a competent enough group of pirates/0.0 tacklers to kill whatever you're in.
Vargur is way too slow, you dont want to fly the black ops. Machariel left. Your problem is that you'd like to be in web range, which is were the problems for you start. When you're that close in a shiney ship (15km with domination web), you need to be on the lookout for rapiers/huginns and hyenas, which are quite common. 2 webs and you're quite screwed.
Tank it up and use it in da bruce fleets or nano it up and use it with competent people in a small gang situation, going solo will just give your enemies a shiney killmail.
Tbh what I wouldve done... started out with t2 fitted tempests and sponsor some of your alliance mates with ewar frigs and a ceptor pilot for scouting, loose a few tempests, learn from your mistakes and get some experience within the gang. When you feel youre ready (and you should be more aware of the possible risks after loosing a few tempests) upgrade to mach for pimpness.

I shall enlighten you.
nano-mach is the best and about only (xcept the nano-phoon) viable nano-bs in-game atm.
It's speed lets it gtfo when things get hairy, and it's dps hurts like a bastard. max-skilled, fully snaked nano-mach can easily engage and kill most bs-es solo, and disengage by mwd-ing if things get rough.
The fitting is expensive, any decent fit will set you back about 2 bil at least ( including the ship, excluding implants ). Yes it's very hazardous to fly them solo, but then again if your wallet is too big and you're in need of a new toy the mach is the way to go.
Of course these things really shine in 3-4 man gangs .... fought them once ... we had 8 ships bs/bc size, they killed 7 of us. We didnt have any rapiers/huginns with us sadly.
So bottom line is, the nano-mach is the ultimate nano-ship which takes skill and balls of steel to fly, and last but not least, a big phat wallet to support it.

This is an excellent argument, however it is completely irrelevant because a nano setup has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with a dual rep setup which can apparently tank 4-5 BS's and my argument was that it's tanking ability wasn't much greater (if at all) than any other extremely expensive Battleship therefore making the original argument redundant.

Then sorry for arguing with you about a different post. But ur still a noob for saying u use 100mn mwd on sleip
Yes of course you have a point, I'm sad to see so many ppl tanking their machariels completely ignoring their actual ubar speed.
They will die pretty fast to any decent gang and the price-tag on that setup is ridiculous.
Tbfh a Vindi does a way better job at that and has better dmg. But I guess some ppl just don't have enough brain-cells and like to buy their machariels on e-bay or sumthin' :PP

NanoMach is the best of the bunch... but personally i'd keep it simple and go with a Nanophoon. If you're willing to pimp it slightly i.e. polycarbs + faction propulsion mods you'll probably be on par with a Nanomach... i.e. a bonus to Siege launchers / Cruise Launchers and a more flexible drone bay (as well as slightly lower sig radius). You lose out on pure hitpoints / speed / mid slots, but for what you save an awful lot in ISK meaning you won't be crying when you do eventually lose it, which you WILL solo.
Just as a note will you be completely solo, or have you got an alt scout? -------------------------------

Most of the time I fly solo because I normally play for only half-an-hour each time. I don't use alts.
Therefore, I'm thinking of "playing safe" with a Rapier for a while until I get the hang of things.

I would like to pilot a Machariel, but it should take me 6-months to have the skill points to do it well.
Until then, I'm 2-months away from a Vagabond/Rapier - the experience of flying these should be useful.
By the way, why do so many dislike BRUCE these days A few weeks ago everone liked us except pirates. Has everyone gone pirate, or what?!

If I flew a Mach in PvP, I would need a few ales just to counter my fright of losing the ship.

Some great ideas for Mach setups here. As a noob Machariel pilot, it's good to see.
I just like the speed and L gun bonus.
For rigs, I use a combo of Polycarbon and dynamic fuel valve for speed duration, with gist X MWD and OD IIs, I can get 4-5 k/s.(no snakes) Surprises a lot of frigs that try to tackle.
For anti frig , tracking enhancer IIs, Tracking computer II, 1200mm IIs and 4 assault missile launchers, + webber drones.
My tank set up uses 3x capacitor control circuit I rigs. This one has a faction 30km nos, and a diminished heavy nos. Then 2x L rep IIs, cap relay, cap recharger IIs, and 800mm repeating art.
The nice thing about the cap cont circuit is that you dont loose any armor or speed like the poly or nano pumps do.
I just got some Panther BPCs and just want to fly one to jump around for fun. It has to be great get behind gate camps with independent mobility. With max cloak and covert ops skills, the Improved cloak II is OK, I guess this is a BS version of the stealth bomber in some respect, with 2 LY jump as a bonus.
I've used the Improved cloak II on the Mach and the recal time is only a few seconds after uncloaking.
