Hey I just got back on EVE after a couple months of hietas and I created this toon to be a research/builder and I just want to know what's the best way to go about creating him. Maybe if some one has a good tip or two or maybe a good guide they could direct me to, that would be awesome. And to those that think mining and building is as boring as watching paint dry don't worry this is just my alt :)

You're going to want to use the EVE client for that. Classic or Premium Client, it doesn't really matter, the characters come out about the same. The most effective selection path to take is Race>Gender>Attributes>Ancestry>Career>Specialization>Appearance>Name.
After that your industrial alt will be stored on the industrial server, in an undisclosed location in the Ruhr Valley. ----- TANSTAAFL

I think this is everyones way of saying "i don't know"
There are plenty of guides on verious different kinds of industry, check out the stickies here
If your planing on makeing a new char to do all the industry stuff, this page has a list of all possable starting skills for the different races career paths, and the knowledgebase on this site has some basic information on how to do most industry stuff.
And you mentioned research, so.. Guide to Research, though i'm not sure if thats up to date for trinity.
Any of that help? -

Yea the others here were just the usuall eve forum trolls [i.e. the Forum Community]. I think it has something to do with the fact that there are no moderators who actually moderate.

While this thread is at the top, might as well throw in a few tips :)
If your just starting out and have either not much isk or just want to try building something easy and inexpensive, find a medium sized mission hub (~80-120ish people in local, look for blobs on the map under players in space) and sell ammo, don't bother with small ammo or rockets/light missiles, aim for selling hybrid or projectile M and L ammo, as well cruise and torps. For hybrid ammo, antimatter is by far the most populer, for projectile ammo, EMP, Fusion, Phased plasma and Titanum sabot are all populer as they do the most damage of a perticuler type, more or less the same with missiles.
Competition is your enemy, so if you can find a hole in the market at a very busy mission agent station, exploit it fast and hard, and don't expect it to last because someone else will find it soon enouth and undercut you, but you can make very reasonable isk this way, after all everyone needs ammo
If you are going to base out of one system - and again mission running hubs are best for this - put up buy orders for high demand best named T1 items that have a decent profit margin and resell them, if your unsure what is a good price, either get an Alt on anouther account to sit a few jumps out from Jita and check prices, or use this. By buying good mission loot cheep and reselling it, even megre earnings from just a bit of ammo selling can be reinvested for a very high percentage of return, esp. if you can buy it cheeper than Jitas best sell prices and then haul it all there for a quick sale, though you won't need to do that untill your doing it on a larger scale, which of course requires more operateing capital and a little more risk.
Ok i've been helpfull enouth for one day, i'm going to wash myself in some carebear blood now -
