This is a plea to CCP.... now ongoing spam eve mails are bad enough to cope with.. but tonight i was docked in Emrayur picking up skills, when the local chat is continuosly Spammed by newly created character's.... now to me buying any ingame currency for rl cash is only punishable by real life player killing!!!, it ruins the gameing experience for everyone. because it is to me a form of cheating, and i don't believe in it!! period... so seeing isk sellers spamming, really ticks me off.... please find a way to stop this from happening ccp. or atleast keep them out of the game :-)

LOL, your funny, it's not solved at all i can tell you. The point is to prevent you to see the isk spam at ALL, so by blocking them doesn't help, it just help you fill up the blocked list with character that are banned after 10 mins, and that creates more lag when you open Peoples & Places.
Tell me why blocking isk spammers help when they shows up with a new isk spammer after 10 mins Jenny?. You still see the isk spam the first time after he have posted with the new isk spammer character for the first time anyways.

In my opinion, CCP needs to no linger accept trial accounts. Any new accounts that dont come from the box sales need to be a 3 month payment. Then after that can choose any payment plan.
This game is great and anyone who is willing to play it will dish out the money. Those who are willing to only abuse it will not.

If you are learning "the ropes" og this game, you bought the character right? And if you did, I wonder where a newbie got the isk from to buy such an advanced character...ebay? The sale of this Jenny character have certainly not been up for trade on these forums..

i agree nightmare, just blocking is not a a permanent solution... the biggest problem is the economy of eve itself.. i have to work really really hard ingame to buy an expensive tech2 ship or even bigger capital ships or plyer owned structures.... there are far too many players that just use a new accounts, or buy accounts and then buy isk just to buy uber ships to pvp... in the long term this harms the whole economy of eve not just the market but how the game is played in general... i allways wonder how and why characters years younger than me are flying around in ships i can't even afford yet, let alone fly in some cases.. it makes ccp react by making these items// ships harder to reach, but the ppl that lose out are the genuine non isk buying players. .

Spitfire Mark III it would appear, is somewhat lacking in the mildly psychotic vitrol of the Mark I. I'm sure a suitable conditioni- erm, education will restore previous levels of hatred of, for example, isk selling.

this is an interim idea.
isk seller creates char (hfurfurfyr, usually summat this daft, dead give away lol) joins local and decided's to SPAM away, players straight away contact gm's via ingame help,pm or even a pettition... gm grants immediate kill rights on that character... once the spammer is flagged everyone in eve can kill him... and if that don't work concord should swoop in immediatly to his position and he be podded.. if he in a station then he should be undocked and podded!!!! then the account is then suspended and deleted immediatly

in the end it will ruin the game.
Once you get a few 100 evemails a day, see local scroll like crazy with isk selling advertisements, you know something is wrong and CCP gave up trying to counter.
So far that is not happening yet.
For CCP it's a choice:
Free trial accounts without CC info needed for every1. It makes the game easy to try for whomever wants. As result some might start payment and that's what's it all about.
So where does CCP have to choose? - Stop trials? will never happen. - Ask cc info for trial accounts, doubt it will happen. - Limit trial accounts? Been done a bit already, but more to prevent an endless row of trial scouts etc. - Limit the game, regional acces for trial and non trials, doubt it will happen, will give a protected small view of the game. - Limit mail and channel acces for trials? doubt it.
So we had the private mails, local spams, channel spams. Now the corp applications (directors get the isk spam) what to do about it?
ISD should handle the channel spams, they mostly do, but not many of them around, the ones missed seem to be petitioned and get booted within 10 minutes. Solution, more ISD. Or maybe more assistant ISD, who can give channel bans and that ban creates automatically a file towards isd/gm so they can ban.
Mail spams.. Set you mail tax to 5000-50000 isk it will scare of the spammers, the higher the better.
Local spam, again the support isd, same options as the channel support isd. Only needed for empire and the busy systems in there.
Corp application spam. Give corps an option to block all applications automatically. Applications forms can only be given from corp to player, after the player sets: accept application form corp XXX. This will result in more player interaction, either by chat, vocal, mail or forum and stop the spam completely.
Other than that. More communication about ISK sales. I know for a fact that loadsa people get caught and end up with a nice negative isk balance. This will punish the player and prevent that player from doing it again, the penaltys are severe. If CCP would be more open about it, it might prevent other players from buying isk for cash. Would love to see a little topic on the forums with some nice stats.
Today 89 players have been cought buying isk, in total we reclaimed 14 billion isk, on top we fined another 7 billion isk. As result 20 players got a permaban, 40 players have a temp ban. This week stats: 412 players cought buying isk. etc etc..
Pretty sure being more open about the ban and isk reclaiming will give people a better idea that they are wasting money when buying isk. And the presented stats will drop in numbers. (unless of course the chance of getting caught is so low that it's better to keep away from public)
Remember the legal way to buy isk is simple. GTC are invented for that.

There is another option, although it ads a little serverside overhead to the local channel. Simply add some filters to the local chat channel to catch spammers. As soon as the system catches spam, eg a url to an isk selling website, it automatically mutes the character and stops the spam going out in the first place. Simple, elegant and cuts into the spammer's ability to advertise their wares.
The current system is pointless because, as someone has already stated, by the time you report the spammer they have ditched the character and started on a new one. The filtering and muting method prevents them from doing such things as it stops the spam before it even gets out, while allowing people pinged with false positives to challenge the muting.
Of course the spammers will try to circumvent the filtering system but because the spam is very specific it is much easier to fine tune the filters.

You can probably get a few good key phrases into a filter, since they all seem to be along the same lines and involving three or four websites. No problem there.
I seriously disagree with suspending trials, since without a trial I never would have tried this game. They serve a legitimate purpose with the unfortunate side-effect of allowing spammers free reign. Perhaps one of those account verification things, either by some kind of email verification schemes or having to input the ridiculously hard to read characters before the trial is created. =P (I can't seem to make a new trial to see if this is already done, since I can't remember, but I'm a bit sloshed so someone else go do it.)

Huh, doctor, who?
I disagree with taking card info for trials. There are many people including teens who do not own any card. Like me, before I discovered Eve, I wouldn't mind trying for a free trial without card info. I tried and I liked Eve. Had Eve publisher required me to give card details or something similar, I wouldn't have joined Eve because my first impression would be it could be a shady company.
Once given out details, it could be hard to cancel the info if I chose not to join Eve. I am sure you guys had problems with companies taking money out of the card with a click of a button and chasing back money was a nightmare. Countless of calls, letters and companies are always right because their computers say so. In the extreme case, you would have to change your card details because they would take money again on a new billing cycle.
On the other hand, I think the game publisher is already quite well to do. I am sure they could hire some degree or masters holders with credibility and skills to moderate in-game channels for spam prevention. Give them the responsibilities to improve customer and community services.
did you not buy your character? oh wait you mean your 1st one right? :) but yes I agree the no card thing is nice.
