Hi there ^^
1. My question is, what do you think how effective is the Sentinel's energy vampire thing? Can it daze another frig, a cruiser, or even a battlecruiser before the opponent in pvp blow it up? I like the way of energy vampire and drones, but I don't know how strong is that little ship.
2. Anyhow what do you think which is the best electronic frig for pvp, solo and small grp?

None are good for solo, and id personally say the Kitsune for light gangs. You'll have pleanty of webs and points int he gang, but will be weak in defence.
For larger gangs, the Hyena. The rest arent OVERLY useful, unless combined in a frig gang.

Edited by: Dheorl on 29/12/2007 12:30:37 If you had to pick on for solo either go for the sentinal and just zap AF's and frigs, maybe the odd T1 cruiser, or the hyena and try and pop close range ceptors or shuttles.

Well I know that a bigger/stronger ships is better, like a BC, but I like faster, smaller, tricky ships. Thats why Sentinel, Hyena, Kitsune and Keres is so lovely to me.
So you say these are useless?

you're better off with an inty. ---

nah not inty. I want to use electronic warfare. So electronic attack ships + recon ships.
The only question is the race. gallente, minmatar, cald or ammar? :)

the best seem to be the minmatar and caldari ones.
the amarr is very situational, altho it's the one that can dish more firepower, and the gallente one is meh, since an ares can do what she does, and faster. ---

The Sentinel is awesome, it just requires EAS lvl 5 and faction neuts nos for that sweet 20km orbit and cap recharge.
Its a ceptors worse nightmare.

i want to start a t2 frig gang and electronics attack frigs look so tasty to me
my question is what could we conceivably take on? would a 5 to 10 man group of t2 frigs be able to take down a well armed bc?

It would be fun yes.
Lets say you had 7 Sentinels, thats 525 drone DPS. And 1400 cap drain every 6 seconds. Then throw in a couple kitsune for jamming. Would wreak just about anything bar passive shield tankers

im not talking purely ea frigs. in fact would a gang of interceptors and AFs with just one or two ea frigs be ok?

I flew in a gang the other day with frigs, and the Kitsune performed beyond all expectations. Not a ship (as with all EAS) to be used vs multiple hostiles, but in ganks etc, its very nice. Can permajam most non-capitals with 4 multis + a rig or two, and enough speed to avoid most dps for 20 secs.

Edited by: Sedai Hara on 30/12/2007 02:14:22 I can second that these new EAS frigs are astonishing usefull!
Here is the story:¦(short)
SO we go out as we usual do for a roaming gang, about 8 of us (nanoed )
Anyway we had mixed ships, had 2 inties for tackling, a hurricane, curse, cynabal(me), ishtar then we had a Kitsune. Our corp just invted alot of the new ships for sh*t and giggles mostly, and we decided to give it atleast a try. Turns out it was a good decision ^.^
The Kitsune litterally permajammed all ships we ecountered, BCs, Commadnships, recons, hacs you name it. was jammed once the kitsune landed in the field.
So yes, for small gangs and such these ships are awesome, some more than others (Kitsune rocks *hint hint*) but they are relatively skill intensive, but they work. In fleet battles though its another story, here the Hyena and Kitsune stands out for obvious reasons. But the kitsune lacks the range that you can get out of an ordinary Blackbird or rook/falcon/scorp, but it more than makes up for that in agility and price.
Solo in a EW ship? some can, but the frigs certainly are limited, though team up with a few buddies. A few inties that got backup from these new EW platforms would be lethal to any isk-farmers(By own experience)

very hard to do so since the hyena has the firepower of a wet paper ball hitting a concrete wall.
in conjunction with let's say, a taranis however, it's pure interceptor serial killing ---

ihmo! both are very close together, I would train for both, as the supporting skills aid both of them. depends a little on the race tough, as gallente I would rather go for the inties ;)

Why is everyone so hyped about EAS? They aren't all that good and are massively outperformed by recons in every aspect. They are okay for noobs who want to see what the recons are like before training them, but other than that they seem like a joke :S

last i checked they cost 20 mil ish, the hyena goes fast as hell and it's pretty damn effective at what it does. Sure rapier is better, but not much can stay away from a minmatar recon. Sentinel is good in gang, fast enough to avoid crap, has a big enough drone bay for light ECM drones, and tracking disrupter is kinda cool.
Other ships i have no clue about.
Oh and Hyena rocks, did i mention that?

EAS are fast, agile, and cheap ships, with huge strengths for what they are.
Frigates
If you believe recons are better, then you yet dont know the age old saying of 'there is no best'. For 0.0 roaming gangs, comprised of vagas, nanoishtars etc, i know for a fact, my falcon/rook cant keep up. Enter the Kitsune.
They have a stronger tank believe it or not than recon ships, due to their size and speed. And then if you include in that the fact that they do their job EXTREMELY WELL for their price...holy crap, do they become a good asset.
Theyre the ultimate addon for any nanogang, and a must have nowdays in frig gangs. Larger battles? Yeah recons tend to be more useful. But in small scale pvp, Kitsune (aswell as the others) have huge roles to play.

Interesting things :)
Well after these informations, I can tell KEres and Hyena are NOT my type.
So I have to choose between Kitsune and Sentinel .
I like the Kitsune jamming ability, but Im afraid its capacitor go out too fast, or what if the jamming not works, then boom I died? Or its stronger then in my inagination?
Sentinel sounds nice with energy vampires, and drones. I just don't know how strong is it. Can it daze a battlecruiser?
Hehe what a hesitation :D I like both, whichone should I learn first? :))
