A yellow skill is a skill that`s only partially trained (by example due to the fact you changed skilltraining without finishing one first)

You may not see this if you do not have the option enabled.
In your skills window, click on the Settings tab and check "Highlight Partially Trained Skills".

Arghh! You guys are mean to unleash this on someone so blissfully unaware. The option to show unfinished skills as yellow has been the most insidious feature introduced by CCP. Its a conspiracy I tell you!
Basically you have a big yellow flag on a skill you "almost" trained, sitting there... taunting you for months and months. It is sitting there all by it's lonesome saying: "Don't you love me anymore?"

Aww, I was hoping we could screw with him at least a little bit before we gave him a straight answer.
Qaija: The yellow skills are interactive. If you are out in space with your character sheet open, you can click and drag the skill off of the sheet and into space. This will create a manifestation of an object pertaining to the skill. So If I'm out of ammo in a fight, I drag the torpedo skill to get more. (The Torpedo Specialization skill gives T2 ammo, of course) You can also drag the battleships skill to get an extra ship and you can drag the social skill to get friends in case you're lonely.
And I just came from the bar, so please, no one judge me. I may regret not typing this as an alt in the morning.

You don't have to use the feature Atleast I don't see the point in it... got plenty of partial trained skills and I'm not going to train them now just because I have started to.

The more you run from a fight the more "yellow skills you get". They are bad, avoid them
