Edited by: Rialtor on 06/01/2008 09:09:51 So just beat Assassin's Creed, and low and behold it's a trilogy . Now I have to wait till god knows when just to get the 2nd game, and it left off at a cliff hanger. The story was just beginning to pick up too, and the game ended.
But I enjoyed the game overall, not sure why so many people bash the game so much, but it was an enjoyable experience. Basically, it's c.ocktail of Driver/GTA, Matrix in a Crusade Setting.

I can't even imagine the amount of time it would take to find all the flags. For the templars, I have killed around 30 of them.

Buddy of mine's gotten the lion's share (Ha! Get it? Lion, Richard the Lion... hearted... enh. Screw you, it sounded funnier in my head.) of the flags. Dunno if he's gotten them all quite yet. Same thing with Templars.
Whoever first said that AC = GTA: Jerusalem hit the nail on the head.
Oh, and AFAIK, Ubisoft's said since day 1 that AC was a trilogy. How'd you guys miss that?

because i saw the game intro got all giddy and then bought it lol so i missed the trilogy part :)
And yeah i like the "lions Share" very good mate haha
think ive got about 30 templars aswell but ive not completed it yet so i dont know how many are dotted about on the last part.
Tho i found a good way to bring them out, just go to the different cities and star mass brawls with the local guards & then run about & repeat, they seem to come out of the wood work when ive done this.
Theres ment to be 20 flags in your home area, but ive searched and climbed everthing and im still about 7 short
But still a *****ing game.

Ubisoft isnt exactly known for creating great stories. Good stories, though, they're good at.
Great games, though, they're good at too -

Let me be clear on this.
I haven't purchased an Ubi product in almost ten years. When I finally gave up on them and made a conscious decision to avoid their wares, their basic strategy was to make a poor copy of the most successful game on the market, then release it late and buggy. Has this changed?
*researches*. Hmmmm. Somewhere along the way I picked up the (apparently false) notion that Ubi had acquired CodeMasters. This may be why I have such a dim view of Ubi. ----- TANSTAAFL

"trilogy". the lastest marketing spin by the soulless *expletives deleted to save the mods having to ban me* who having seen the success of films, feel that dradging out the bottom of the barrel for all manner of cack, and then making it a 3-part game will mean, instead of spending 30 quid, people will instead spend 90.
Welcome to marketing.... where they'd sell thier own children to baby-eating cannibals if it got an extra 1%market share. Scumbags. *spits*
Crysis really was awful, IMO... hackneyed, third-rate design, abysmal plot, "twists" you could see coming a mile away, and no subtlety at all. utter tripe.

I think the ending was done quite nicely, giving you those puzzles/teasers at the end. Gives you something to look into, trying to guess at the 2nd and third game, the only thing that could have made it better was if there was a browser in the game :). That way I didn't have to leave the game in order to look up some of those references :).
I think I have a good handle on that stuff now...I haven't tried to decode those blocks of text yet though. I'll have to look into Code breaking again.

I played this on my m8's PS3, i was about to buy it for the 360 but was warned it was crap so I thought i'd try it first to see for myself and yes its crap. Ok the story is pretty good, if a bit slow, but overall the gameplay was much less than i was expecting. Felt like it was rushed out tbh. Not worth the buy, i got more satisfaction from watching all the cutscenes on youtube than i did playing it for an hour. _______________________________ [ 2007.06.07 21:07:22 ] FrankyWave > ransom me guys I am joining XElas !!! |

assassins creed? that game you can finish in less than a weekend and once you know to play it's boring as hell because combat system is the most repetitive thing ever?
AND it's only 1/3 of the "real thing"?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA way to spend 600Ç (550Ç for that sucky game system that only knows the words "graphics, sound, blueray" but ignores the term "gameplay" and 50Ç for the game)

sadly not YET in all countries. and still: nice waste of money. even more disappointing than HL2... i don't like to pay for games that can only offer a weekend of enjoyment.

Quality over quantity, I say.
I'd rather play a game that gave me 3 hours of pure unadultered fun rather than 50 hours of boredom and mediocrity. -

ofc i can. both are **** easy, story-mode finished in less than a weekend and once u know how to play, boring as hell.
ofc, HL2 is more than just "story-mode" but that's not my point.
wanna know a game 1000x as fun as this ones, with better GAMEPLAY, much more fun and more hours? try "Castlevania, Symphony of the Night"... even the O.S.T. pwns any game novadays... but then: OHNOES, no shiny graphix!

Edited by: Mtthias Clemi on 07/01/2008 15:50:44 Assassins creed is actually fairly good! Not as good as a lot of games i have played, the only bad thing about it tbh was when it changed into some sort of hack and slash boss battle game at the end..
Half life is one of the highest rated games in history, its brilliant, if you want short, play Halo 3.
