Do not be fooled by corps. We once got blobed by a Mega, 2 falcons, Arazu and Rapier all in noob corps. All were fit with Domination webs and scrams and we were all perm jammed and webed and scramed from over 60km.
All were in noob corps, we never saw it comming

Even though I equally dislike the anti-pirate Russian blob. I do have to give them credit, at the moment they are the only serious opposition in the area that can match Blood Blind's numbers. They both seems to throw a whole lot of pilots at a little bit of everything. No offense to either side.

No offense taken, at least by me.
Yeah, we have a lot of people flying around in our OPs, but we also aren't afraid of engaging superior numbers as all of our fights against our Russian (are they? I've never seen them say anything in local ever), friends hoppefully prove. In all the fights I've been present against them, they've outnumbered us 2 to 1, but I've never gone down without taking at least 2 of them with me!
I've probably lost more ISK in the last month than in my wholle EVE career so far, but I've seldom had this much fun in EVE as well.

Tbqfh I don't think when you guys get together you have any clue what your flying with... This is quite evedent with the lack of FC from your side, no offence you do pull in the numbers, but tactically its a fail.

Aye
All Pirate Corps should set these bastards to -ve. According to my notes on them, they enjoy running their blob ops between 17:00 and 21:00 Eve time.
I've fought them on numerous occasions. Rumor has it that the majority of these guys are Red Alliance alts that go hunting when nothing is going on in their Alliance or 0.0.

No need to be a great general to figure that out. Half of people in that blob were just noobs with 1-3 months eve experience, like i was saying it was my first pvp encounter. And there was almost no lead, no fleet setups etc. It was just random blob were a few experienced pilots were trying to teach noobs and show what pvp is like in eve. And it was great actually, educational and fun. But i can't really get your logic in making that encounter into epic battle when you bravely killed the unorganized blob of noobs, where you even had light advantage in numbers. Wtf? If you trying to point it like great victory vs russians - it's so damn laughable and only proves that you don't have any real victories that you can be proud of. So ok, yea, you're heroes, np. There are a lot of russian fleets out there that will desecrate your gang without even thinking of posting topics about that "epic" victory even in their own message boards.. And i'm sure you've met them allready :) And we.. we will just train and grow, russian community is growing pretty fast in last couple of months, so you will get some more "epic" victories too. I, personally, don't mind, thanks for a lesson.
About that list of corps - i recon it's not even 1/5 full, you better put into your kill-list every single russian corp that you know of :)

By no means was I insulting what you were doing out there at all. Simply when you say we had the figures wrong, we really didnt. We were close perhaps bar 2 or 3 ships in the count. We used detailed recon to decide whether to enage or not, we assertained you had the larger group, but we would use tactic. Like you just said yourself in that wall of words, your all new, dont know what the hell is even going on in those fights.
Basically you were un-organized, did not know what you even had on your own side, yet say our figures were a "bit wrong" tender not of scarcasm? who knows. But what you saw was not all that was there, take into account those who jumped back warped off.
Anyway, GF... and lets leave it at that. o7

the only thing i will say toward your flame is this.
Your group thought they'd have some easy kills with some low sec pirates by bringing in more then you thought we could handle.
implying that your group was disorganised is incorrect, since you came to us looking for a fight. The right word here was that the FC in your group was inexperienced.

Wait. You guys are pirates. That means that a great majority of you (if I'd say 60% I'd be very, very very conservative!) prefers to gank people in the following ways :
1) Missioner, gank with several ships on his non-pvp setup 2) Beltratter (ok, arguably, the type most to deserve it^^) same as above 3) Industrialist, sit at gate, either pop on side A or Side B with a few mates. 4) Sit at Gate, pop everything in smaller numbers then you by massively overwhelming it.
So....to me, all that boils down to 'mini blobbing'. Most of your kills (and preferred kills it seems, since most pirates are actively searching for ways to gain a huge number benefit on their opponent such as gatecamping or missioner-ganking) are therefor stemmed on the same basic philosophy as 'teh ebil russians' use : Blobbing.
You, pirates, get the same tactic you use the majority of times - overwhelming your opponent by numbers, and/or superior equipment - on your roofs by the russians, and start complaining ?
That does seem a bit sad to me..sure...you die. Sure, it's unfair. Sure, thats EXACTLY the kind of sentiments that your usual targets have against you and your own way of fighting.
* please any pirate that engages in 1v1 combat looking for a worthy competitor or pirates that enjoy the regular wrestling with the local anti-pirates ignore all above and continue your ways ! :) |

The slight difference is that we don't know what kind of numbers the enemy brings from the other side until they're just about to jump in from a safe location. If we see 20 ships show up on the gate, it often happens that many more show up a few seconds later. No one wants to be outnumbered, thus tactical withdrawals and re-engagements are popular for all corps if it's suspected the fight isn't worth it. We have to get out in time if it's uncertain, as we don't like making a habit of jumping into empire with -10 security ratings if we're near a high-sec gate.
The Russian blobs generally know exactly how many we are as they already have scouts near us, and they gather forces in stations in the system beforehand while waiting for all to show up. There's also no risk of them being ambushed on the way as they travel through high-sec whenever they can. Clever? Sure.
Also, I doubt any pirate prefers to camp gates. Know why we do it though? Because it's very difficult to find a target at other places in low-sec. You can easily go looking for hours without finding a single target except maybe a poor 1 week old player in a Tristan ratting in some belt.
When it comes to 1v1's... A very large amount of the possible 1v1 fights I find are traps. Especially at gates! One has to be precautious when your only income is from PvP and a loss sets you back a lot of kills in terms of value.
I'm not trying to blame anyone for anything, just giving you some insight into how I look at it when it comes to PvP in low-sec.

As I actually pointed out in my post, they don't sit in a safespot and then warp in. They generally gather during a long time from a hell of a lot of corps from different alliances/no alliances, meet up in some station. So the scout can't really give much intel apart from "there are this many people in the system". Ship types, who belongs to the blob etc are often unknown things (for already stated reasons) until it's a quick decision of fight or flee.
Regardless, I won't debate this issue. It is not my place, and as I said in my previous post I just wanted to explain why blobbing was so common, and what kind of tactics the Russian blobs usually use.
