Forward to Episode 83.
Over the coming weeks the pieces should get longer, with a flash from the past, to the present and maybe if I'm bold enough, one into the future.
Thanks to everyone who's Evemailed, it's good to recieve positive comments and constructive criticism now and again. With summer drawing close, a cooloff period at work, and the help of a beer in the garden and a fully charged laptop, I should be returning to my old speed of releasing writing soon.
There's lots in store, character building, character destruction, and time for a few dark revelations.
I hope those that read continue to enjoy doing so as much as I enjoy writing.

The Last Gate - often simply called the Gate by the regulars - is the bar channel that Veto runs.

Nice work man, you seem to have struck the perfect balance of clarity and description. The storyline is genuinely compelling as well, so thumbs up for that.

So wow, it's been a little while.
Family commitments out of game and a lot of stuff with work have kept me away from writing for a while, but here I'm offering a new addition to the ongoing story of Life Of An Outlaw.
For those who enjoy reading my work, you'll be happy to know that when I arrive back from Fanfest on October 11th I'll be free to write a lot more, as the company I work for has finally taken a pounding by the recession and is making me redundant. This should help as I'll have a lot of spare time to think while job hunting.
Episode 84 has arrived, and workload pending there'll be a few more over the next couple of days. You can find it through the index link in the original post
Thanks to those who do so for reading as always, and apologies for the delay between releases, it's been a trying few months.
I hope you enjoy this one, and the ones to come as much as I enjoy putting them together.

A second addition for the day.
I wanted to write an Episode that surrounded Ethan's first pod loss as CEO of Veto Corp when it came. I deliberated over it for a while, since that loss didn't come in combat, but to a laggy black screen undock in Venal while piloting a covert ops ship.
I think the result is a little strange, but I've tried to highlight just how fragile a capsuleer's "immortality" really is and how strongly it relies on functional and reliable hardware.
Episode 85 : Mortality, is available now for the scrutiny of those who like to read my work. It can be found on the index page linked in the original post of this thread.
Hopefully you'll enjoy.

And with the addition of Parts 14 & 15 to the "Welcome To Venal" series, it's now complete.
More to come over the coming weeks in terms of general writing. Maybe a surprise random piece or two along the way.
Hope you enjoy these two so far

You, Verone, have the most outstanding stories i have had the pleasure to read in a long long time. i traveled with your character, Ethan Verone, through many aspects of his life through your stories. I Cheered, Laughed, fealt the heat of Anger, and in many cases was reduced to tears by your Well written accounts. I Spent many days reading through your stories and will forever more be a constant follower of your exploits both in game and through the pages of your stories.
Keep Writing, (and find a publisher if you havn't already)

Absolutely awesome, as always. We expect only the best from you ;).
Honestly, you do a pretty darn good job. From beginning to end, you give us a great picture of Verone's character, and you manage to not deviate from that character at all. It's difficult to stay consistent in that much text, but you do it well (and people say us engineers can't write!).
Keep it going dude, I can't wait for the next installments.

It's been a pretty busy time over Christmas, but the next two Episodes are available though the link in the original post. It's taken a little longer than expected to put these two out due to the environmental changes in the game with the launch of Dominion.
Due to the deployment of new planetary effects I've spent all my time writing time since December 1st devoted to the retcon of planets mentioned in my fiction that are no longer suitable settings due to being changed with the launch of Dominion.
Now that it's done, back on track for more writing.

88 : Humane, and 89 : Inertia are now released :3
89 took a while to put together, as it deals with an extremely grey area of Eve's Prime fiction - non-capsule flight. A little artistic license has been used in putting together the scene to show the character interaction I wanted to. Don't flame too hard.

One of the questions that seems to come up the most surrounding the fiction I put together is how the corporation is structured on an in character basis, and how everyone fits into place in detail.
After a little work, I've put together a couple of pieces of reference fiction titled "Anatomy Of a Criminal Organisation" that describe the breakdown of the corporation and family, and their structure, including a reference image to show the corporate chain of command.
They can be found above the list of "Life Of An Outlaw" episodes in the index thread linked in the original post.
Enjoy

And another update.
I've moved the original Episode 1 to position as a prologue, as from a storytelling point of view this seems to be the logical place to put it. I've always wanted to write a piece that kind of emphasized the importance of being "capsule compatible", and what it means to a family when their children are effectively given the nod.
So, a replacement Episode 1 has been released, named "Destiny".
I'll apologise for the lack of activity over the last 7 weeks or so, starting a new job and shift pattern has been kicking my ass, but now that I'm into the routine I'll be steaming toward 100 episodes in the coming weeks and beyond.
You can find a link to the index thread for the new episode in the original post of this thread.
Hopefully regular readers will enjoy this one too. Once again, thanks for the comments and mails I receive, every bit of it is more than welcome.

Episode 91, "Borders" has arrived.
A few people have remarked that they seem to like how I portray combat with my writing. So, I've decided to focus the next few episodes on space and planetside combat.
Enjoy this first taste, and as always mails and posts are always welcome and much appreciated.

I wanted to portray the way that we do things in Veto Corp a little, and how seriously we take the attitude to loyalty in character.
The internal structure of Veto Corp works in character as a hybrid of a traditional Sicilian Mafia family, and a Yakuza cell. As such, I've written a piece surrounding the procedure that a trial member, or "Shaatei" goes through to finally be accepted as " Kijodai"; a member of the family.
Episode 92 can be found in the index link in the original post of this thread.
Hope you enjoy.

The newest offering is "Episode 94 : Wetgrave"
I noticed some discrepancies in Eve's prime fiction with regards to the interfacing used by capsuleers, namely the position and nature of neural implants and connections for capsuleer flight.
I've always had a VERY heavy interest in Eve's technical backstory, so this is my attempt at clearing up these things that sort of irritate me a little.
The episode centres around the switch from the old capsule model in Trinity (gen. 2) to the more " damn dirty Jovians" looking one (gen. 3) in recent iterations of Eve's graphics engine (the differences can be seen here) as well as the differences in positioning of implants.
Currently a frozen corpse in eve's ingame engine has a neural jack in the joint between the Parietal and occipital bones in the rear of the skull, with the advent of the new avatars, and the recent Incarna teaser we can see that they now have a series of implants resting down their spinal column. Inspiration is also taken from the Incarna teaser.
As always, the link to my fiction index can be found in the original post of this thread.
Hope you enjoy guys.
