Hello all,
Funny circumstance just happened. I was in a kestrel on a suicide mission, warped to a gate, came out of warp, there was another kestrel there on his own.
We both must have the same idea because I sent 4 cruise missiles his way, he sent 4 my way.
Well, as you can imagine, my ship went pop pretty fast, looking over at him his went the same a second or 2 later, I could see my pod and container and his pod and container.
Now, there was definately no one around and no firing going on as far as I could see, but my pod starts taking damage and I am podded.
Do you think this is splash damage, or lag? Just curious

Go tot your eve directory, and under capture\gamelogs you should find the log for the fight. Sort them by date and go through the lot to find the one you need.
They should contain the info on at least some of the dmg and who dished it out.
also the mail from concord should tell you who ventilated your pod

Yeah, checked those, seems to be incomplete unfortunately. The guy who ventilated my pod was the other guy I was shooting at, so either I was lagging behind and he managed to target my pod and get a final shot off before he got destroyed, or the missile damage transfered over to my pod somehow?

It might not have been splash damage as you see it, hence it really is removed, however missiles still colide with objects thats in there path, your pod might had been. __________________________________________________________ |

Missiles are supposed to go "poof" and disappear when objects are destroyed or warp away, but it's either not working or they decided not to add that feature..
That would 100% stop poddings and cargo can popping by missiles. ------

missiles all have proximity range, which means anything in their area will get hit once they get close enough, basicly the guy sent 4 cruise missiles your way, it only takes either 2 or 3 to kill a kestrel meaning that the 4th missile would still be heading in your direction once your ship went pop!!
4th missile heads to where your ship once was and goes back and forth until it either hits something or runs out of power and implodes itself, unfortunately it seems to have hit your pod and took you out,, its not an uncommon situation when fighting in frigates, i have lost count how many times it has happened to me

me Raven vs. Megathron on Chaos. I had 6 cruise missles and killed him and podded. Poor guy had to go 30 jumps to get to the system again :)
