Edited by: Robert Denovo on 12/01/2008 23:03:43 And with regret we announce that we failed the Freeroll.
Unfortunately, the competition is fierce, and although we wanted to give 50 million isk to those that registered, only few have subscribed.
We do not know why of this failure. Our Denovo's poker channel receives daily threats and insults from our competitors. This is the last of today: "if you send 1 more mother******* person into my channel, to advertise for your bull****, i WILL be banning everyone in this channel, that is in mine".
Our competitors are telling us that we should close the poker channel because they got the idea before us, eg. as there is only one bar in the city or a cinema etc.
We believe in player's freedom, we believe that the player can choose the best offer for its purchases.
Our bankers are not earning 2bil per week with a poker as declare our competitors. We have earned much less. However, we have decided to back the isk earned managing the poker tables, and to give these isk through Freeroll. Some players were convinced not to participate, others threatened, there are not many people who actually challenged and our competitors have entered the same. Despite all this, we decided to move forward. We are preparing new fresh news and an important partnership.
WE ARE MOVING FORWARD!

Hello m8, sorry to hear it didnt work out, and i also had to say i agree with your last post. If you want to host poker games then do it, its not like someone in eve invented poker. As you may or may not know im a banker for another channel (wont name any names here) and i also wanted to say i have never made 2b from banking, not even as a TOTAL after the soon to be 4 months iwe been doing it. (I have made alot more than that from playing poker though so everyone that need isk play poker!!)
Anyway just a friendly "keep up the good work" since i liked your last post! Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Valorem ([email protected]) |

Sorry to hear you've had negative feedback from the community, people are going to start new businesses, it happens. Though if you went and advertised in someone else's channel without asking they do have reason to be angry. Otherwise, to each their own and good luck with whatever =)

opening a new bar is one thing. going over to someone else's bar and telling all the customers to come over to your bar is quite another.

Sorry for delay.
We have never wrote our advertising on the channel of DOA, and not in any other channel of Poker. Never!
Initially we privately recruited players from channel DOA Poker. Privately, in the sense that we have sent a mail to players that we saw playing. That's all.
On the other hand, how to begin else? We should try to invite players from asteroid belts? Or perhaps Jita? We believe that the right place to contact Poker playeres, is where they are playing poker. Without making spam aroundà
Someone says that it's not right.
Then we got a stop, and we stopped, however, we have not invited players from their channel. THIS is the truth!
Obviously those of DOA Poker didn't give us stop saying "Stop!", but with insults, abuse and threats. Not only that they wanted us to not contact their player, they wanted to close our channel. We have said no: this is our right!
But let's talk about our Freeroll.
How can a Freeroll go almost desert? The Freeroll itself is a way to get some publicity, obviously. For us it is also a way to thank those who have chosen freely our poker channel these days. One way to repay the isk of rake.
So let's talk about why our Freeroll went almost desert:
1) The client does not like it, it's too heavy or too complex. It is not our case. We have the classic server / client Mavens, for now. 2) The Time of the Freeroll was wrong, too early or too late. It is not our case. We have chosen a not too late or not too late time, as we saw on other channels. 3) There have not been enough publicity. It is not our case. We have opened a topic in EVE forums. We have sent invites in Local, Alliance etc.. In the other poker channels we were asked not to put advertising messages and we didn't. I don't know more than that. 4) The prize of 50 million ISK for a single winner is too low? We think that giving 50 million is a good start. The other poker Freerolls doesn't offer much higher sincerely. And however they divide the prize among multiple winners, 2nd, 3rd, etc..
We believe that EVE players playing poker have not been able to participate in our Freeroll. They have not been able to choose, they were forced. Insults? Threats? We do not know, but we intend to find out, we won't surrender. We go ahead!

My question is, why did there need to be a certain number of players to start. If you wanted to give free isk, and 2 people joined... Well, one of them should get it.

To be honest I would be far less likely to bother playing in a tourney with only a single winner.
As someone who has played online poker I pretty well know the odds and the simple truth is even the best players bust out 75 percent of the time in tourney.
Try at least 3 spots next tourney and send me an e-mail.
