Does anyone else think that as with the racial drones specialization skills that missiles should also have their own damage specific specialization skill?
Draft specs: Rank: 3? Pre-req: Missile operations 2 Specialization in the operation of <insert your favourite type of damage here> missile types. Grants 3% bonus to the damage dealt of <insert your favourite type of damage here> missile types.
At the moment: There are skills that affect certain missiles, for instance heavy missiles and heavy missiles specialisation that gives heavy missiles a 5% damage and 2% rate of fire bonus. There are skills that affect all missiles, for instance rapid fire and missile bombardment that gives 3% rate of fire bonus and 10 % to maximum flight time. Yet there isn't anything that covers the special flavouring of missiles used whether its EM, EX, KE or TH.
All the other way of dealing damage through lasers, railguns or projectiles deal multiple types of damage and have far more specialised set of skills.

Most of the turret boosting skills effect all turrets. Surgical strike, target prediction, etc., effect all turrets - lasers, miniguns, blasters, all of em.
Also if you raised missile damage there'd be no reason to ever use turrets. ...in bed. |

Another idea might be to make it so a missile can do different hit amounts (like hybrid ammo can do) based on the skill.
Missile Domino Effect - Rank (8) - Prereqs MLO 5, and a few other Missile basics to 3 or 4. Description - An advanced guidance sub-routine that causes missile impact to have an increased potential of impacting a ship/structure at a critical junctions. When impact occurs missile damage is multiplied. 5% chance of causing additional damage per skill level.
Level 1 = 5%, 2 = 10% ... 5 = 25% chance of additional damage
The % of additional damage would be based on the existing damage calculations.
This would make missile boats abit more interesting.

The drone spec skills only add +2% per level. +8% to missile damage would make PvErs happy, I suppose, but it's not really going to change much in PvP.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |
