Yesterday i scanned a solar system in 0.0 - radar and unknown shows up in results. So i scan down the one with lower scan strength thinking its the radar one - site called "Independance", go in with cov ops to check whats inside: alot of rats of various types, towers, no hacking containers and another gate further down the plex. Ok, this one is the "unknown" type i think to myself.
Scan down the other - yet another gate to a plex called "Sansha base"! Check whats inside - some rats, no towers, no hacking containers and another gate leading further down.
So the question is, is it possible that the last one is a radar one? "Independance" seems like combat site for sure. Dont wanna risk clearing combat sites solo - last time i did it, my geddon got raped before could kill scrambling rats.
Thank you

Radar professional sites have somewhere in the name the word "Hacking". No "Hacking", no radar site.

So was it a bug that multispectral scan showed up radar and unknown, but the actual sites are both unknown ? Btw, did multispectral scan several times to make sure.

No bug. Multispecs show only the type of sites in the system, not how many sites for each type exist. You have not uncovered the radar site yet, maybe there is more than one radar site, and maybe more unknowns. You are can only be sure that you won't find magnetometric, gravimetric or ladar sites.

Ok got it, thanks for replies.
Yet another question, is there a way to see difficulty level of a combat site? Or maybe there is a list with names/level somewhere?

IIRC, at some point (either when warping to the precise scan result or when activating the gate) a dialog box with information about the site appears, included is the rating (similar to complexes, e.g 4/10) you seek.

Hmm, never seen a dialog box in hidden combat plexes, neither when warping to them nor when activating the gate :/

I have never seen a dialog box pop up on any of the sites I have found. The only dialog box I have ever gotten while exploring is the ones informing me of an expedition spawning from a combat site. Do I have a setting set wrong somewhere or something?

Lets be accurate here.
Yes, some radar sites have gates. No, none of the ones you found are radar sites. |

Guys, guys, please, read the guides. :-)
There are two types of unknown cosmic signatures. The first type are the escalation complexes. The second type are the old static DED complexes. Now all DED complexes above 3/10 have been turned into unknowns.
So if you get an unknown, it could be a DED complex, which invariantly will return you a dialogue with the DED rating (3/10, 5/10, ecc). Or it could be an escalation combat site, which does not necessarily issues dialogues.
I am not sure if an escalation site NEVER issues dialogues, but if it does it won't contain the DED rating, so you know what kind of unknown you are getting into as soon as you warp into it.

To be correct, High Sec cand Low Sec radar sies have no gates. Some radar sites in 0.0 COSMOS constallations have a gate. You found an unknown site. That's it.

I found 5 sites in 1 system once, all radar and unknown. When I think their may be more then one site in a system I keep my quests scanning the whole time and just bookmark anything they pick up.
In the name of the bookmark I put the scan type (radar ect.) and the distance to the site. In the discription I put the signature strenth, and the probe strenght (quest comb ect.). Since chances are you get more then one hit on a site in over an hour of scanning this helps you figure out which hits are for the same site.

Very useful stuff. Thanks! Where did you learn all this? I've read a guide (Explorations Guide v2.1 I think?) somewhere in the forum (very educational as well), but don't recall reading anything like this. Any links you can recommend? I'd very much appreciate it.

I have found a radar site behind a acceleration gate. It was a hacking cosmos site. Lotsa drug manufacturing stuff, BPC's components...It was very cool actually. but the last gate just make sure everyone has the hacking skill because without it you cannot get in there.

Only if its a Cosmos Radar site.
You'll know its a Cosmos Radar site because you had a Radar hit on your multispec, and it took you 4-6 hours to scan the thing down. They have very very low Sig strengths. Most people give up on them before finding them.
