Has anyone managed to get this working in EVE?
http://mrhaandi.blogspot.com/p/injectsmaa.html
It looks really awesome, I'd love to see what it could do for EVE. I tried putting it in the eve.exe directory, but it didn't do anything. So I put it in the /bin/ directory and the game would crash as soon as it tried to open up. |

CCP is pretty strict about doing anything to your files, even just adding other things into said folders. Resident Haruhiist since December 2008. /OOPE/ Bittervet since 2006.
I lay my claim upon Out of Pod Experience, plain and simple. |

O_o
It's a folder. It doesn't belong to CCP. Nobody can tell anybody that he's not allowed to put stuff into it. Please educate yourself before you post opinions that have no background.
OP ... there's a guy trying to inject FXAA, you can find the topic here -> https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=64406
Maybe it helps, or maybe you can contact the OP there. Inappropriate signature removed. Spitfire |

no way this could possibly go wrong...

pretty impressive, huh?
only reason we don't see this in EVE yet is because there are a dozen easier ways to achieve the same results.
edit: how to solve this issue? seeing the trouble AV software has trying to stop malware from using the same techniques the prospect is a bit disheartening once you add a malicious user into the mix. Only solution is probably to lock down the devices and only allow execution of signed code - otherwise the user will always find a way to circumvent your anti-botting/cheating detection. |

No, i'm not arguing that CCP should allow anybody to have custom code loaded into the eve client. I don't even know why you bring this up, because i was addressing the comment of that guy saying CCP can tell anybody what files to put into a FOLDER. They don't own the folder.
And considering the link ... no, it's not impressive at all, actually.
Edit: btw ... AVs are for those who don't know better. Inappropriate signature removed. Spitfire |

Oh, they can tell you not to put stuff in a folder.
You can then put stuff in the folder. And they can say "We told you not to do that, here's a ban".
It's like a restaurant saying 'no shirt no shoes no service'. Sure, you can decide not to wear them. But you then can't really complain about them not serving you. FuzzWork Enterprises http://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/ Blueprint calculator and other 'useful' utilities. |

Injecting things into EVE is bad, people illegally obtain and inject pythons when botting.
Pythons and SMAAs deserve better than being injected.
I support ethical treatment of pythons and SMAAs. |

Such tards on this forum... -_-
And thanks for the link to the guy's thread trying to inject FXAA, I'll give it a look in a bit and see what he's come up with so far. There's a video here showing what SMAA can do and it's more impressive than those crappy screenshots they've got on the page I linked.
For those of you that I guess this is just beyond your understanding:
Quote:SMAA is a very efficient GPU-based MLAA implementation, capable of handling subpixel features seamlessly, and featuring an advanced pattern detection & handling mechanism.
What's really nice about the SMAA is it almost completely gets rid of the crawling effect jaggies and aa usually have when the view moves. You can see it in the video I linked above. |
