Bought 50,000 of these, quite cheap, noticed a buyer was willing to pay nearly double for what I bought them for, so I thought "geat, quick profit", loggd off for an hour, check the price on the item and the buying price has been slashed! Hope its a little more healthy tonight.

A nice way to move inventory that nobody uses or has in stock themselves is to put up a buy order for the thing your selling and as soon as your sale goes, cancel the buy order. Can be risky but the rewards can be excellent. Hopefully you haven't found a trickster! :)

Say for your example, the transmitters...
you have them in a station some where, so you go to a 6-10 jumps away system (to give you lead time) and place a buy order for transmitters at "way above" your selling price. Put the transmitters up for sale for xxx, buy them, at other station for yyy+zzz.
Wait..
When someone buys xxx at first station (your order) you cancel the buy order yyy+zzz.
You must be careful with this. Someone could buy from somewhere else, and fill your buy order while you sit waiting for your sell, to sell.
You have to watch your wallet closely, so you see the sell order go through
Must be in same region,
----------
To really make this work, try using an alt in the "sell system" broadcasting in local, "Hey you guys...i got a great deal to make some money on transmitters, but im short the cash, anyone help me out, will pay right back.."
you can guess the rest....
According to Oveur, existing LSAA's already anchored will stay there. kieron Director of Community Relations,

I would be quite dubious of players that put up high volume buy orders for npc trade items.
On player traded goods - I have occasionally seen unusual buy orders that stand out - but usually these have been low volume
