Other then a few quick responses to stuck petitions I dont really have any, not that I never have gotten help, but it just takes to damn long, so please share your stories(positive) with the rest of us.
This is not an attack on the GMs, I believe that they are doing their best, but they seem to be too few to really have an impact, or the system is all messed up.

Hello, this is a very good thread.
I wonder though, if I needed to express some negative experiences I've had regarding the petition system (and let's face it, who hasn't?), is there a thread I could go to do so constructively?
I'm sure there must be, as no company would want to be portrayed as unfair or biased.

2 years ago I made a petition about getting stuck in a quest which I could not finish. Got an answer after about 2 mins after the petition was made. ---

One of my 'associates' was trapped in a corp who were changing his roles to keep him there.
I sent a petition to have him freed, and went to bed.
When I woke up he was in a noob corp.
Is that what you were looking for?

Edited by: Tarminic on 22/01/2008 14:34:00 To be perfectly honest, after the last thread was locked (unfairly, I think) I'm not in the mood to re-post my positive petition stories.
EDIT: Actually, I will share. The moderators have addressed my concerns regarding the above post.
ISK Seller Petitions - Filed several, GMs followed them up with bans within ten minutes
Broken Mission Petitions - Generally taken care of within 48 hours.
My experiences have actually been overwhelmingly pleasant. ---------------- Tarminic - 31 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.78.2 |

'Your' is regarding possession. You're = You are. Unfortunately, your post makes no sense. Please stop posting.

Off topic: I think that the other threads were locked because some people have trouble seeing the difference between pointing out things where one disagrees with standing policies (and only the policies, not the people acting out those policies. After all why shoot the messenger?), and calling CCP inept, unfair, evil, the ravisher of innocent bunnies and kittens all out of the need to vent a particular negative encounter.
Mind you, i understand that people sometimes need to let off steam, but the idea of feedback is to give the person you give it something they can use to improve themselves with. So either outline in a non emotional way the objective issues you feel need to be reconsidered, or even supply your own suggestions for it.
On topic: I haven't been in a situation yet where i needed to file a petition in a category that most negative posts about petitions seem to originate from (read, petitions that require the GM's to affect the economy). The few petitions i had to file (stuck/billing) were handled satisfactory.

- When Vanlade was a n00b he destroyed a cargo container from an NPC in a mission and destroyed the key item needed to open the acceleration gate. A petition quickly reset the mission :)
- Recently someone made a mistake while updating the price on a sell order, and instead of the usual 0.01 undercut the price was changed to be 100x more and 750mil went bye bye paid as broker fee. A petition solved this as well :)

I've had a few good sessions. Contrary to popular belief, I actually did get my raven back when I lost it due to lag in a mission. Unfortunatly I only have half the modules for it but I'm cool with that.
And when my storyline agent insisted she send me to hell aka Jita I had to send in multiple petitions for being stuck which where all handled within minutes.
Aside from those few I've sent in a few for isk sellers but I don't care if I get a response from them on that or not.

I was getting ready to move to a new system. So I packed up all of my belongings into a Iteron 5. We are talking BPO's, tons of T2 gear, Faction mods, everything important I had.
I was planing to get in the ship to fly it to the new system, and fly it to the new system I planed to operate out of. Insted of getting i the ship I miss clicked on trash. Then, I carelessly didn't read the confermation message untill I was clicking the buton to say it was ok to trash the ship.
End result, I accidently trashed the Iteron 5 with all my worldly goods inside. As a last ditch hope to get saved from my own stupidity I sent a petition in hopeing they could save me from myself. After a day they did and I didn't loose all of my assets.
All I can say is thanks CCP for being so kind.

"Your" is used regarding possession. "You're" is used as a contraction of "You are".
Your post makes no sense, please stop posting.

I've never once had a problem. In my years of playing, I've had about... oh, 6 petitions I've put in for reimbursement, and another 8-10 on bugs [with reports filed]. With the exception of one, [alcohol played a factor in that one], I've had every reimbursement petition filled, and most of the bug-effects reversed enough to get back to playing.
I think a single one of my petitions took more than a few days, and that was due to the fact it was immediately after patch-day [for exodus, I believe, even].
Obviously I lack perspective to be empathic when it comes to people moaning about petitions.

Can say I have been playing EVE for awhile. The past few years were great as for petitions, with ship losses and other odd thing. But as of late, I have had issues. The other week with everyone stuck in Jita, and petition to get un stuck. Was fast as fast could be, but when I loged in after was outside jita and laged out with a war target sitten next to me. Unable to move I lost the ship, was able to warp off saving the pod.
What they said is there was nothing abnormal with the system. That was some funny stuff.... so as for petitions ill just take waht happens and vent on someone else in game

Showed a noob friend my shiny mega once a couple of years ago, including the drones. Yep, you know where this is going. Was just sitting peacefully outside a station with my friend orbiting before going on a mission when BAM my drones decide to attack, ZAP concord arrives and BOFF I ended up in a pod.
Filed a petition and logged off, pretty miffed. When I logged back on next morning my mega was back. Nice.

I have been here since beta and have only had to file 4 petitions in that time.
All of them were handled just fine in and in an acceptable time.
Most were handled in less than a week, the longest one was the most recent, regarding the loos of implants. That took about 3 weeks.
A little long, but the experience in all of them has never been a bad one. I frankly don't see what the problem is.

In my time within EVE i have filed 3 petitions if i remember correctly. One was something that i thought that was lost when i tried to move it. Next day i found out that i was wrong about the disappearance and closed the petition myself.
One was about a bug in the overview that showed a neutral ship as a war target (and got me some treatment from Concord). It was answered next day.
Another about a bug with Serpentis rats in a mission (couldn't lock or shoot them). It was answered and resolved within 45 minutes.
I may have one more but i don't remember.
All in all every time i was forced to fill a petition, it was answered in a short time (reasonable time if you wish) and very professionally.
As a word of advice i suggest you choose to make a petition only when you know that what happened(ing) is not logical. And always be courteous to the people reading your petition (that is don't swear in the description). There are people reading this and not some bot. I bet you wouldn't like it if you were in their place.

I've been playing a long time. On only one occasion did a petition not turn out as I'd hoped. Some took longer than others. The thing you have to keep in mind is what is going on in the game at the time. Did you lose a POS during the ROF=0 bug? Well, so did A LOT of other people, so get in line. If you lost a cruiser because your drones wouldn't return to your drone bay in the same week as the POS problem, well, it'll be a long road for you. But stay optimistic.

Edited by: Kraven Kor on 22/01/2008 21:39:56 I've filed about 12 petitions, one of which was a 'stuck' petition which resulted in my ship exploding while I was not even logged in (I had to leave after waiting on a response for about an hour.) They refused reimbursement.
I can only remember one or two petitions that were handled "well" - one was actually a reimbursement on my alt, where I jumped into a system but could not do anything - couldn't align, move, warp, lock, fire, nothing, and I got killed by a smallish gang. Ironically, that petition probably was the only reimbursement I've filed where they shouldn't have reimbursed me, simply because the hostile gang would have probably killed me even if I had been able to do anything.
The other I think was with a bugged mission where it kept telling me I didn't have all the necessary items. ----- You're not what you are, you're just what you do! So it ends with their butts and it starts with your shoe! - Awesome Car Fun Maker |
