Really can't compare. No single alliance has had six titans and was on the defensive at the same time.
Not to mention cyno-jammer deathstars and the fact that RA faced far more improbable odds and held out far longer than BoB have when they were alone again the entire (old) Southern Coalition.

I don't think this is even close to true.
Just off the top of my head, SMASH did (probably still does) Merc work back in D2 vs Goon period, and they're certainly space holders.
Now holding space without blues, is something I believe no one does at all. I can't think of an example of such an entity.. anywhere.

I am guessing that MC wont answer my question as they have a CAOD ban in place.
MC have stated that the goon NAP is a matter of expediency to secure PB as quickly as possible (fair enough). But if MC cant take TPAR from BoB whilst BoB are being stretched and engaged in fountain, querious and delve by around 40 other alliances, what makes MC think they can even hold PB once the goon NAP fades away?
MC have also stated that they want goons dead as much as they want BoB dead, how are they planning on doing this if they cant even take TPAR with their tortugan allies?
It seems a smart move from MC to NAP goons to secure PB as quickly as possible, but it appears they are throwing away their other long term goals in doing so, and they are showing weakness by saying they cant take TPAR without even more support.
Cheers Cam
Timing stront well, 6 titans and jump bridges means that BoB dont really have a problem defending 3 systems. You dont have control over all your psace bur you just hold all your station systems.
I dont think that means your winning.
No single alliance has held out against the numbers we are facing for the period of time we have been. Ask any BoB member if that means we're losing. If you guys think this is the way to end BoB, your bitterness is clouding your judgement.
Its hard to say if you are winning or losing. For this long period of time your talking about you have been consistently pushed back out of the space you claimed. In fact since the titan nerf and pos bowling a exploit you havent made any forward progress (w/o mc's help).
However, since pulling back you havent exactly been on the losing side either. Delve is still fine, and the parts of fountain you are defending is also relatively safe.
Only time can say whether or not you are winning or losing, but to say you definitively arent losing is delusional.
To stay on topic: MC are ****** whichever way they choose. They have ****ed off to many people for to long, Ragoon has only nap'd them to make things easier for them in the invasion of delve. The coalition hates mc, and theyll come for them once bob is defeated. Bob hates mc and if they beat the coalition theyll be coming for mc once theyve won. Mc isnt setup for space holding, they dont have enough people to be a player in space holding anymore. Sig removed, lacks Eve-related content. As I said to the BNC guys - I really don't see how this changes anything at all, we still have the same red list and the same list of people attacking us. All this forum drama is more about mocking the MC leadership for going back on what they said they would never do, which is or should be done in good humour.
Also I find myself agreeing with NOBRAKES, which makes me feel dirty, so can we have some sensible k/d ratio rants to bring some normality back to this thread?

Having been part of the MC in an earlier form of the MC, I know they are a proud organization with a member base from all over EVE.
They went into the Tortuga thing to become "truly" neutral, a thing I can imagine and in a way it definitely makes sense. I would've chosen a difference execution of disassociating myself with BoB, but the idea behind it isn't flawed.
Now, the MC once again choses an alignment with a party outside the scope of a contract. Something they wanted to get rid of with the whole Tortuga thing.
I can see how MC leadership didn't like their members to go off on roams and kill nothing but coalition. It didn't really work towards their goal of securing Period Basis. Giving their members less targets might get them more focused towards the goal here: total control over Period Basis.
Or is there more to this? Has MC set their eyes on more than just Period Basis and do they also want a piece of Delve when it has been cleansed of BoB?
Time will tell, it's interesting times. I'm sure there will be a lot of internal discussion in the MC between the anti-BoB, pro-BoB camps in the MC and the camp that doesn't care as long as they have targets. How does Outbreak like this situation? Blob wars aren't exactly "their thing".
The synergy aspect of KIA is now clear though: their contacts with Goons have probably made this step a lot easier to make.
- Title edited by OP to reflect message. -
Sooo basicly... They have gone from one bed into another on the basis of appearing less-biased and back to there roots.
Which is kinda ironic as....
The bias that had them associated with BOb was marketed by the very people there now aligning themselves with.
I personaly hope it works out for them, but suspect that it will only lead to alot of internal stress - at least more than they had being `alligned` with BOB. That and the move from a managable 0.0 base to a scale were they are now/want to go will end up distracting hem from what they probably want being true to there hearts and thats back to there roots and sailing the map on contracts.
Another way of viewing this is that they had a good with a lass called BOB but have now moved on and also looking at setteling down and have a few kids whilst still going out partying.
Either way there plan was in my view poorly executed and even more poorly thought thru. But I'd expect nothing less from Seleene as its part of who MC are. Ego's aside. I just hope it works out for them as would be shame to see them end up infighting and becomming a boring bunch of people who end up sitting at eve meets in a corner being as socialable as bacon at a vegitarian convention. That would be sad.
Anyhow until I see a MC official post I'll just assume its all true and Wag's left at the right time and I left BOB at the wrong time :).
Either way as long as all parties are having fun then what do they care whats said - only means more merc contracts available to others, which is nice.
But if your realy missing the old days of eve - do empire wars - perversly enough its very much like what 0.0 fighting used to be. Try it sometime, its good for the soul.

BoB was the biggest, most powerful alliance in the game for a long time. While they were securing ASCN space and cementing their position as the dominant superpower, the RSF combined had less space combined than BoB. While BoB was churning out supercapitals and making ridiculous amounts of isk from their moon mining chains and tech 2 BPOs, we were struggling against the Southern Coalition in fleets that still had mostly tech 1 cruisers and frigates.
BoB declared that their eventual goal was to dominate all of 0.0, and given that they were more powerful than any single entity it's hardly surprising that given the choice of ganging up on them or renting from them, everyone chose the former.
What we're seeing here is merely the vestiges of that power. Yes, BoB is still largely intact. They are STILL more powerful than any single entity. But they aren't the superpower they once were, and I expect we will soon see them be ground to dust over the coming months.
