Please
can CCP incorporate a wifey aggro button.
one that instantly docks you, even with any aggro timers and then logs you off game.
This would save an earbending from married players, and make our lives so much easier.
I dont even mind supplying a copy of my marriage certificate to ccp to prove i am married so that they can enable it.
any comments about thumbs , and under, will be assumed to come from either unmarried men, or liars :)

I love EvE so much, that I have it installed on both my home PC and my work laptop that I get to take home. That way, when my Wife wants to go to bed, perhaps to read or watch a little TV, I join her with the laptop.
When she complains that, "We never get to spend any time together, as you're always playing your stupid game." I reply, "That's why I come to bed with you! Would you rather me be downstairs, playing my game, and leave you alone for hours?"
I then follow this up with mentioning about how the home system would give me much better graphics, faster response times because of more RAM... ...blah blah blah... ...just so that she's aware of the 'sacrifice' I'm making, all to be close to her.
(Sometimes, it even works.)

Have you guys tried divorce? It's a far more peaceful lifestyle choice. Seriously, too many people get married simply because they're obeying their *******s when they'd be happier just staying single.

From personal experience and posts in several forums I've learned that you can keep the wife/gf happy AND play EVE for ridiculous amounts of time.
The solution sounds like an utter failure on paper, but has been shown to work in practice despite going against all reason and logic (we are talking about females here!).
There are two implementations that seem to work: 1) Get something for her to do in your computer room WITH YOU 2) Get a laptop and play in the room she hangs out in
It's important that you not force her to do something she doesn't already enjoy. It's imperative that you be in the same room with her. Inexplicably, it's not important that you pay a great deal of attention to her. Sure, respond if she talks to you, but oddly being in the same room seems to be sufficient. There's no logical explanation for this. But it works.
Try it. -- Support fixing the EVE UI | Suggest Jita fixes |

There are two implementations that seem to work: 1) Give her rohypnol. 2) Sit her in front of the TV after administering the rohypnol.

tried the laptop thing, and doesnt work,
as to a control on the button, i would suggest a 15 minute timer b4 you could log back on, as lets be honest most wifey probs when they occur take longer than that to fix

Tried that... didn't work.... I asked her to clean up some stuff in the room, maybe even vacuum clean but she just looked angry at me at left the room.

I'm married. I play Eve.
I have no problems. My wife knows I need to relax and do what I want to do sometimes. She has her own hobbies as well.
I've met people in game who are married, and both of them play Eve. That works, too.
If your wife is nagging you about playing, either you play way too much, or she's not worth being married to. ------------------

Ah i did forget to mention, that i also have 2 kids , and 1 on the way,
so wifey aggro is particularly hormonal at the moment

They should also add a rare rat spawn called "your wife". Which consists of a mix between those many-k-dmg guristas torps, neuts, and scramble. ---

two things.
1. /signed
something I swore I would never do.
2. frighteningly, xaen's suggestion (play on laptop in same room) actually works. My office is off our bedroom-literally 10 feet from the bed. I am in my office, she hates it. I am in the bed playing, No aggro from her. In both cases, she is watching tivo, and not talking to me hardly at all.
oh, and three boys, all under 7. Glad I am at work during witching hour.

Edited by: Alowishus on 24/01/2008 23:30:29 My girlfriend claims she doesn't care what I do, but like clockwork, 15 minutes into playing she'll come into the room and start with the, "WHacha doin????" in the cute/sexy/vomit voice. Any response other than "I'm just wrapping things up, I'll be done in five seconds," results in sadness/exasperation on her part. Thankfully I am adept at ignoring the feelings of others.

Sometme i wonder if my other half follows me around in a cloaked ship from her laptop upstairs.
I can be playing for hours downstairs with not much happening, but sure as damn it if i'm on the last stage of a missionor just started some PvP i'll hear this little voice...
"murf...can you get me some water and let the dogs out for a pee?"
She knows, somehow she does i'm sure of it!

Maybe she's working for a large Icelandic software-company?
Seriously though. Explaining, showing and letting HER try usually works best. Giving her an extra pair of headphones so she can listen to the rants on TS is usually a good way to keep her satisfied (atleast you'r showing her some interest by asking your alliancemates to say hello on TS).
There's only one sig that matters... and that's Radius. |

I can't vouch for a "OMG wife inc!!!1!111!" button (although it does sound good), I reckon "Get of that damned computer right now and come and *insert chore here*" button for annoying parents would also be good.
For that I guess you'd need a birth certificate or something. --------------------------- ---------------------------
