Trading in empire they cannot really restrict but ratting and exploration (luck aside) average to about 40 million an hour give or take a few million. Exploration seems crappy and random because that is how they control prices and market fluctuations in this game and that is why PVE creativity in Eve is lower than most other MMORPGs.
You miss the point. Explorations reward is similar to other eve-professions, because players are free to choose their profession. If explorers quit exploring, materials provided through exploration become more valuable, making exploration more rewarding. This way, all is about risk and effort versus reward.

The original poster appears to be impatient.
That begs the question: WTF is this guy doing exploring?
Not even mining provides consistent rewards.

I view exploration a lot like golf:
Most of the time my results are only "average," but every so often I hit a great shot and it makes up for all my previous frustration.

Not L5 in a few exploration skills."
The above quote contains false and misleading information...because it IS NOT entirely BASELESS! IT IS FROM PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE!
My corpy WITH lvl V skills CAN and HAS found the sites I cant more times than once, WAYY faster (within minutes of entering system after Ive spent hours), therefore having the potential to run more or eschew more sites..BECAUSE he has better skills.
Not to be rude, but I really doubt you've done numerous tests comparing your scan times with your corpmate's in identical, controlled conditions.
Quote: If you're try to say someone with low skills has same earning potential, as long as they prepare etc etc..as someone with all LVL V skills, well thats just a very stupid statement.
Oh, I'm so glad to hear that since it's not what I said.
Quote: Lets take a look at the above statement which contains NO ACTUALLY helpful info but just ambiguous references to how they are sooo much BETTER! BUT as i try to help people, I will HELP you learn and understand the knowledge of effectively helping someone instead of virtually patting yourself on the back.
My intention wasn't to provide a tutorial on Exploration. But if there's a question you'd like to ask, go ahead and ask it.
Quote:
"knowledge of mechanics "- I HAVE. It doesn't take 3 years in university to read all the guides on probing.... YOU do not say anything more than you have to know how to probe.
If you understood the mechanics, you'd understand that 5 in the Exploration skills make only an incremental difference over 4s. I'm sorry that your personal experience has led you to believe otherwise, but that's PRNG and observational error for you.
Quote: " Mastery of techniques"- ROFLMAO! You're making it sound like rocket science or brain surgery! it is simple geometry..AGAIN NO MORE than a vague statement about your own "superior mastery" of probe scanning.
Calm down. I didn't say a single thing about myself, you noodle. I've just learned and experienced the system enough myself to recognize the symptoms of "Exploration Victimization Paranoia Syndrome" when I see it.
As far as how much technique helps, I'm not saying it's anything really complicated, but that there's a lot to learn and improve on when you're first starting, and that that's a much bigger deal than SP in probing skills past level 3 or 4.
Quote: "Thorough preparation"- LOL yep I DO load MAG probes if I want to find a Mag site. Did you add that just for more verbal filler? AGAIN NO specific info..just vague references with an adjective to make it sound more impressive. "thorough" preperation...like anybody means to NOT be thorough?
Preparation mainly meant setting up good BM nets. Experienced explorers have them, people who are just starting usually don't. Once you have them for an area, they save you an enormous amount of time. Simple, eh?
Quote: "better resources"- What? you have a sister scan probe launcher fitted to a helios with grav rigs and implants too? Or do you have fairy exploration site finder you consult with?
Maybe you're not aware of this, but not everybody waits to start exploring until they get the skills and isk to use a CovOps, a SoE scan probe launcher, and rigs. And for a lot of young characters, the probe costs themselves are going to feel expensive compared to the income they generate.
Any questions? Or would you rather keep flaming me with more nonsense that seems to have no relation to anything I said? Either is fine with me. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

There is no bug with exploration. It's a lottery if you want a steady job go rat/mission/mine. I enjoy the lottery because I tend to make good isk from it. I've been going for over a year on pure exploration alone and I've made plenty of isk, quite a few billion actually. If you have an issue with exploration I would suggest you stop and go do something else, mainly so that when I do my job I make more money. And by the way, if you got pwned by an exploration site it just means you were not prepared, considering i've done many 0.0 expeditions with out a logistics ship and with a single battleship tanking. So go ahead and flame all the exploration guys around here but leave the nubs alone and let them make their own choice. Your claims tend to be kinda rediculous and the fact that you like to talk in caps does not make us listen more to you or agree with you.
btw I'm glad it took you that long, it makes me laugh, I wish I could have seen ur face when you got nothing

If you don't like a chance based system then you RELY need to find a new way to make money. The only thing that I know of that was more luck based was the BPO lotery. You rely have to enjoy exploration for what it is if you're going to do it.
