Edited by: Cordelia Machiavelli on 30/01/2008 08:39:39 I am sure this has been asked before like a thousand times, but nevertheless:
I started doing missions for Carthum - made 16 and received storyline from Tash-Murkon Family. The result is that my standing with Tash-Murkon grew twice as much as Carthum. Which is kinda stupid. The same happened with kaalikiota and Propel Dynamics - made standing 6 with Propel by just doing 4-5 storyline and storyline chains.
I know that the mechanic is so that it sends you to the nearest storyline agent, but I need to know more, so I can plan a little bit more about how to organise my missioning. How you can figure out which will be your storyline agent? You go to eve-agents and search the nearest systems for storyline agents? Or you identify a storyline agent and search for an agent that send you to him? Also - if I do something like 15 L3 missions and go to do the 16th for a proper L2 agent - will I get a L2 or L3 storyline agent? What if I do 15 missions for one corporation and then go for the 16th mission for another, so the storyline mission is from an agent from the first corp?
Any comments are welcome.
PS. Do the storyline agent is always in the same constellation? If I have a storyline agent 2 jumps away in a neighbouring constellation and an agent 3 jumps away, but in the same constellation - which one will be my storyline?

Your are sent to the nearest storyline agent in the faction.
If you want to run with Carthum and want storylines with Carthum, travel to Asrios System. You will find lvl 1, 2, and 3 agents in the same station with a lvl 4 within 1 jump, and 2 bonuses. First bonus is that all missions are within 4 jumps from any agent and the second bonus is a storyline agent is Carthum station 1 jump away (same system as the lvl 4).

It's the LAST (i.e. 16th) mission that determines which storyline agent you get.
So the trick is to do the 16th mission in a station near the storyline you want. If there are 2 (or more) storyline agents within equal distance then it's random as to which one you get.
Cheers Falka

It allows you to search for storyline agents by corporation which is extremely helpful. When you are counting your missions to place the 16th mission next to the storyline agent you need to keep three things in mind.
1) R&D agent missions also count as missions towards the 16 missions. 2) You need to count missions for agents of each level seperately, i.e., after 16 2nd level missions you get a level 2 storyline. 3) Missions for ALL corporations of ONE faction count towards the same storyline.
