Fellas, give us a bloody queue system!
It's 9PM, my missus is waiting for dinner and I'm here waiting for a 12 minute skill!! Come on give us even a basic "Switch to next skill when finished" button!
I can only imagine how many blokes have gotten in @#$% waiting for that skill just to bloody finish!

Just start training something else and come back to the skill tomorrow.
Gimmie a queue and I'll crash the character market in under a year with the number of alts I'll have farming skills. The influx of newbies in carriers would shake the very foundations of Eve.

yes, which is something that will change if a queue system is brought in unless CCP state that to allow your skill queue to auto switch from one to the other you have to be subscribed to the game? ======================== XXX |

congrats u got the hidden statement! but srsly, they could do something like a queue that allows u to set a new one if the skill has reached 90% of its SP needed. that would prohibit those actions mentioned above ----- so delicious! |

Edited by: Roy Batty68 on 01/02/2008 10:47:37 I'm at 26mil sp now and somewhere along the way I stopped caring so much. I used to seriously freak out if I missed just a few minutes. Now I can miss a whole day of sp training and its just a, "meh... whatever" sort of thing.
I agree though, some sort of queue or just a simple train the next skill in line would be nice.
But of course now you're just reading my sig... |

train something longer, finish the 12 minutes the next time u come back. I've missed virtually no skill training over 4+ years, and that' without a queue. I also don't stress over it. I train short skills when I'm online and swap to something longer when i log off. It's very simple and very easy to do.
To CCP, please keep the current system, it's good to encourage your members to log on. Of course you already know this as you're the ones who have taught me this.

As mentioned allready: WHy not start training the new skill you intended to start when the current one where finished. And when dinner is over, you finishes the skill you got 12 minutes left from.
Maintaining skills is part of the game play!

I would not have expected that Level 1 tripping onto Level 2 etc would have been to much to ask / expect.
I was a bit surprised to find that training actually ceased on reaching a level. It's counter intuitive tbh... -- Death of an insidious dictator Birth of a new one

I just hit 20m SP yeasterday! (Yay me) I have so many skills at lvl 4 that I need to take to lvl 5 that I could be doing just that for atleast + - 1 year. When I go to bed or need to go somewhere, I check my current skill, ok.. 4 hours left. How long will I be away? 10 hours. Then just switch to another skill and then switch back when I get back.

To add to Bimjo's comment, without the "Must Be Subscribed" solution, consider an all new, evil element to EvE: The Uber E-Bay Player.
Yes, with the "Queue Without Subscription" solution, people will join EvE for one month, prepared and ready with their EvEMon-created Powerhouse Player Training Guide, and then just show up after six months to pickup their Powerhouse Player, and sell him/her online.
And if you think they'd be doing this once - think again. I can see somebody paying for a bunch of subscriptions, all for the opportunity to sell their 'product' for thousands, albeit illegally, outside of the game.

Have a look at CCP's drawingboard here.
Scroll down to allmost the bottom. There you will find this statement: Skill Training - Queue or Dual training
This could enable players to either queue skills so that when one level finishes the next level in that skill starts training automatically, or another preset skill starts training automatically. Dual training would enable you to have a primary long-term skill in training with a secondary short-term skill sharing the training time. After a level in the secondary skill has trained, the primary skill trains at full speed again.

At least allowing the training cycle to continue into the next level of the skill would be worth asking for.

I think it would be easy enough to suspend the skill que when an account goes inactive, while allowing the current skill to complete.

Why would they allow this?
Because it would allow a queue, while keeping the behavior of inactive accounts exactly the same as it is today....
