Anyone got any experience about a laptop with a similar graphics card or know if a laptop like this can run EVE or not?

But if CCP moves to next shader model, you are screwed. Get lappy with at least intel 3100.
What is your budget bro? My budget is around Gé¼8-900.
I was in a store yesterday looking at screen sizes and I think that I want to go up to a 15,6", thinking that 14" will be too small too fast. I also want a non-glossy screen.
Other demands: CPU: i5 or i7 RAM: 4GB with the ability to upgrade to 8GB+ Screen: 15,6", a minimum of 1600x900, non-glossy
I want to be able to log into EVE to change skills and maybe mine once in a while. |

a guy in the linked thread said it works. but is there any particular reason you dont want to buy a normal computer or atleast a dedicated gpu? |

I already got a desktop computer, but I wanted a computer that I can take with me. I often repair/troubleshoot family/friends computers, so I want to take my own with me - with the proper software and links etc.
I also have plans of using it as an everyday-computer, so I don't have to power up my electricity-sucking-desktop every day just for checking email and stuff.
Using the laptop for logging to EVE to change skills and maybe using it to mine while I'm somewhere else, would be a sweet thing as well.
About the dedicated GPU, I just searched for a laptop using certain criteria and the HP popped up. I then found out that a dedicated GPU might more useful than the 'HD Graphics 3000'. And after Caleidascope said that thing about the Shader model, I think I should go for something else than Intel Graphics.
Hope that explains it. |

I can run EvE on almost everything high 1080p (no HDR or AA) with having a pretty stable fps of around 60. CQ will lag you but you can lower those settings.
Laptop specs:
4gb Ram 2ghz core2duo geforce 130m ~ When everything fades away, an echo is the only sound that will remain ~ |

i5 4gb ram ati 5650
runs 2 clients at max just fine, Reckon you should be able to get a nice rig for 900 euro's laptop wise, at least get something with a videocard or you are really just wasting money, as theres fine laptops without a proper video card for 400ish
Akita T wrote:Yes, it will run EVE. No, it won't run it at a nice framerate, not even with everything turned down to minimum. P.S. Get something with a A8-3500M CPU+GPU combo. While it won't be a stellar performance, it will be noticeably better than the i5-2410M. For instance this 610$ laptop. |
