Hmm maybe i misheard about it, i know there has been talk about it. And tbh it's a great idea, i'd go for somware near jita just to take the strain off. Think i saw something like 900 people in there the other day, something dodgy was going on though, there was hundreds of concord outside 4-4 Talk about lag!! Anyway, if someone does actually try and pull this off, i'd be good to help out!

Occasionally this does come up as an idea. It falls flat as there is rarely enough market momentum gained from doing this. I do know that many of us are not exclusive to the Jita market but we all wind up with some Jita connection.
For instance 99% of the time I can only find stuff I need in Jita but whenever I sell I do it from outside Jita. Like Urlen or something. Safer for many of my customers than the slide show in Jita though I concede that the real consumers in Jita won't undock let alone travel two jumps to pick up wares.

Yeah i have an alt sat in Jita, and it does not move, no point risking all the lag, and the suicide gankers, and all the other issues. I only ever trade there when i'm going to be active for most of the day too, its not worth it, unless you can watch the market constantly.

If you're just trading in Jita, why are you sitting in Jita? Why not, oh.. use those trade skills and sit somewhere else in the region? I do all of my trading in Jita from 2-3 jumps away and the only time I'm actually in the system is for a quick in and out freighter run. --- Honest officer, the dwarf was on fire when I got here! Trading from the assets window is a pain. Making courier contracts from anyplace other than the destination makes the math a pain (yes I'm lazy and make 50 people a day haul something to Jita for me).
Give me a "remote stack" and put the number of jumps in the courier contract page so I can see it when I calculate payout and I'd be set for remote trading.

Try looking at Perimeter and Sobaseki. I see people ferrying commonly used stuff from Jita to those places for a slight markup. You can avoid some of the lag, at least.

As an experiment I tried selling from a station in Jita that is not 4-4. It could simply have been because buyers weren't noticing until they looked in their warehouse - "where's my stuff, dude?" - but I had no problem competing with traders in 4-4 and I didn't have to queue to get out.

Actually I believe that items offered not in 4-4 could and should be sold with a premium, as in "if you don't want the laggiest suicide gankers infested station as the pick up point', pay the premium. -- One day, we will return to the planets... please, CCP? :)

Actualy it's the opposite in the Forge. If you don't sell in Jita 4-4, you have to sell a bit lower because most people prefer the convenience of buying everything in on place than save some isk.

Nonni has strong potential as a regional hub, both for t2 imports as well as t1 production. I'm there every Saturday stocking up for a run to 0.0 and see gaping holes in stock with 150 people in local.

Try Gelfiven in Molden Heath.
Lot of pirate activity there lately, and it's 1-3 convenient jumps from the low sec where most of the fighting goes on.
There's also a mission runner hub Gulfondi a couple jumps away.
Within 6 jumps of Rens, too.

you could try amamake too, if you can scout your hauler in. lots of money to be had selling to pirates. most of them fly t2 (or equally or higher value best named), and many don't have alts to buy stuff from high sec with.
used to make decent money selling them ammo, cap boosters, and drones

You can try, sure, but Amamake and haulers usually tend not to mesh well, so it's
Gelfiven on the other hand you can get to all through high sec. They're totally different areas anyway.

I hear that Hek is also pretty popular these days. Just a handful of jumps from both Gelfiven and Rens.
Also, I like telling people to "Go to Hek!"

Dodixie has become somewhat of a market hub in Gallente space. Big mission hub, 200 people average in system, and only 15 jumps from Jita. |

Edited by: Zev''Nar on 07/02/2008 17:49:46 Rens / Hek are very busy areas. Lots of PVP'ers blowing each other up. There are around 250-275 people in Rens during the day/evenings.
