Im not sure what to make with this...
There exists in the Database +7 "Elite" Implants that you can link too.
Now they don't exist. Most people know that
The Key word is MOST. Ive seen several attempts at trying to scam people by offering them for sale and then attempting a freeform contract and scamming millions. I just want to know what the view from CCP is since this is a Database bug IMO

Edited by: Tamia Clant on 06/02/2008 16:02:49 It's not a database bug. Just because the items haven't been seeded yet doesn't mean they can't be in the database.
And as for people getting scammed, if they still haven't learned that freeform contracts are scams, they deserve to lose all their ISK.

It is not a bug, it is a potential feature. Those implants are there so that CCP can release them if they choose to do so. There are alot of other item in the database that are not available.
As for the abuse of freeform contracts, that will always happen, regardless of the item offered.
Eve is a harsh place. Survival of the fittest is the rule.
If you get scammed, too bad for you.

They aren't the only thing in the database you can link to that isn't in game, or widly available. It's really people's on faults for being scammed by Freeform contracts.

Honestly, I would e-mail the GMs on this issue. I think there's an e-mail address you can use to contact them but I don't remember what it is... ---------------- Tarminic - 31 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.78.2 |

There is nothing illegal about telling someone you're going to give them an item and then not giving them.
The fact that these implants do not exist is irrelevant. You could do it with any item.

in EVE, the blame is not on the scammer, but on the scammed, because only if you're blind, you will fall for one. ---

If you want to know what the GMs think about it, why post in the forums where there's one and a half gazillion other posts? Ask the question straight away in a petition. Petitions need not to be "Player X h4x, hlep!", but they can (as far as I have understood) also questions regarding gameplay.

Scamming in eve is completely legal, for better or worse
The only scamming that is disallowed is character trading. (and anything that involves real life $ like GTCs)

Should be disallowed.
If you are a new Eve player, you will probably not know the auto-link option. Eve's documentation is rather bad... so a new player simply can not know wether an item exists ingame or not.
