Raise your hand if you have ever lost a kill or gotten away from being killed because of a session change.
Cmon, all of you should have raised your hand.
I can't tell you how many pod, frig, ceptor, AF and other kills I have lost because they are locked in a session change after jumping through a gate and cannot be locked. Due to session changes, even a frigate can escape a gatecamp complete with a well placed bubble if it is even a bit lucky - because you have several seconds of immunity.
Same thing goes for docking games. If someone undocks, they have several seconds - sometimes over 10 - with which they can align or MWD or whatever.
The session change timer is such a huge part of Eve that I feel it merits a counter in the UI. I may never have thought that smacktalk would hold me up, but how long will smacktalk hold me up? I want to know without first trying to jump, so I can calculate my tactics based around it.
I also feel that if a ship is being protected by the session change timer, you should be able to tune your overview so that you can tell how long it will be protected.
I find that next to lag, the Session change is the single most frustrating portion of the game. CCP, don't leave it such a mystery to the individual player, at least give us a handle on it.

Well, you get a session change indicator on the UI if you enable it, and you get a counter if you hover the mouse above it.
