Crew maybe in conection with being able to take over ships if i lose shields and my ship start taking hits my crew start dying the fewer crew (on bigger ships) the harder and slower will my ship respond frigates are off course single pilot ships as are shuttles but most bigger ships are not this would also add (maybe) a need for items like oxygen,Water,Food and Holoreals increasing their value

I like this idea just for the fact I think I could have fun stressing about how many crew I have lost and also it would be able to make in game a interesting contest of "Crew lost" totals

Hence why it is a suggestion for an idea to make more into the game. think you lose your ship other then you out there your crew can be in pods as well this would give you as the player a chance to get away as well. And if you come back and save your crew make some money. or they guys whom attacked ya take the crew and sell them into slavery.

the biggest reason for Crew would be so we could take over ships but the points are good with "stolen" crew that could be sold into slavery
This would of course also (later) be able to add Crew with special skills like others have sugested
i still feel this auto pod when ship blows is a little silly i feel that if i wait to the ship blows to get it a pod there should be a (small) chance i dont make it to the pod and i wake up in a clone

my point was that the ships that does have crews need a little crew remaining thingy (maybe in the middle of the cap indicater) so that we know how many is left and if it gets down to a point where there is not enough crew left to control the ship it can be taken over
as i also said though this could open a whole new aspect of the game as you would have special crew that could give you special bonuses (also it could work as a money sink having to pay a crew etc) Thank You Paw Sandberg

Marines board ships and have small chance of Headshotting the guy in pod if he doesnt have marines himself. Course internal defense systems will kill a good majority of marines. They can also do some Hull damage, and/or mod damage, taking them offline.
Ie. Marine transport frigs in Homeworld 2
