I'm not sure you all understand the term "ulterior motive". I asked a question point blank. If you don't feel like responding, by all means, don't. |

I found a nice trade route from Jita moving building blocks. I would buy 10 million at a time and you could move them 12 jumps and make a killing

My most profitable item is the XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX I got started with the XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX by running lots of agent missions in a given area and making a note of what loot dropped most often. I then compared the drop rates with the profit margins, and decided what was worth investing in. I make a minimum of 15% profit on XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX as I buy well below the perfect refine mineral value. When increased demand raises the sell price of XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX on the market, I can make 100% or more from my initial investment.
(Send me 1b isk and I'll tell you what XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX is)

I buy Veldspar in Jita for 7 isk, and I can sell it for 5 isk.
I make a profit of 3.25 ipu by selling it at 4.25 isk on contracts in Jita where I buy it for 7 isk per ore. Of course, I don't make the profit. The syndicate makes the profit. And everybody has a share.
I can't cut out the middle-man because I am the people I buy it from. I make a profit of 3.25 isk apiece when I sell it to me and a profit of 2.75 isk apiece when I buy it back from me. That's a total profit of 6 isk per unit. I lose only 2 isk when I sell it to buy orders at 5 isk apiece, and that's how I can make a profit buying Veldspar for 7 isk and selling it for 5 isk. I pay only 1 isk apiece at the can when I buy it in Rens.
So, it's not entirely true to say that I buy the Veldspar in Jita. I buy it in Rens at the can for 1 isk per unit and transfer it to Jita via courier contracts for roughly 5 isk per in order to get the price of Veldspar up to 7 when people come to Jita looking for it.
It all goes to the Syndicate, and everybody has a share. That's why my Badgers have freedom of passage all across empire and I can afford to take the courier contract at 5 isk. I am usually able to contract with local pirates to intercept the shipment for them anyway. I make another 6% on that with a 1000 isk bonus for every pod kill.
The arrangement is fair to both sides. Since I have freedom of passage basically everywhere, my Badgers are able to avoid any gate camps, and since I know what route the shipment will take, I can have the gate camp set up at the right time and place. Frankly, I'd like to see pirates get out of piracy entirely and leave it to industrialists who can conduct it in an organized fashion.
Everybody has a share.

I buy goods in Hek and Rens then sell them in Rancer.
Hi volume items are pirate implants (not ironicly due to the hi volume of pirates).

Ever notice the most-commonly-fit item on XXXXXX's? It drops like crazy over in YYYYYY, and everyone brings it to ZZZZZZ to sell. So, the trick is to put up a AAAAAAAAAAAA in BBBBBBBBB at CCCCCCCCCC.DD, and then you can immediately resell it to the transport monkeys at sell orders (or set up courier contracts) at EEEEEEEE.FF. Now, the trick here is to GGGGGGGGG, because otherwise the HHHHHHHHHHH will IIIIIIIIII, and as soon as they IIIIIIIIII, the price will drop below EEEEEEEE.FF. At this point, you have two options. You can manipulate the prices above EEEEEEEE.FF and below CCCCCCCCCC.DD, or you can move to another region for a month or two while the HHHHHHHHHHHs finish IIIIIIIIIIing.
Oh, and note that in an upcoming patch, JJJJJJJJJ will be changing; it'll now *********K. Figure that this will move prices up by at least LLLLL%, and note too that everyone is selling almost exclusively to buy orders in the regions of MMMMM, NNNNNNNNNNN, OOOOOO, and PPPPPPPPPP. Put up your buy orders now, and then just courier them in after--or just before--the patch. Of course, watch out for QQQQQQQQ who RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! And, again, anything above SSSS.SS and you're wasting isk.
I hope this has been informative and helpful; I've covered all the basics of trading TTTTTTT, both for XXXXXX fittings and JJJJJJJJJ. If you have any questions, my home phone number is UUUUUUUUUU. If, on the other hand, you haven't found this guide helpful, then I would strongly encourage you to go VVVV WWWWWWWW!

Speaking of volume, the in-game map even has a filter that displays jumps per hour. Presuming traffic remains reasonably steady, you can calculate exactly how much you would make from gate fees. The fact that more people don't do this could never fail to amaze me less.

If you look at the journal thers is some fees I think one of them is a jump gate fee, but I can't remember and am not in game.
Maybe JUST MAYBE if CCP ever introduce "Viceroys" for low sec systems they might charge a small fee for entering the system :)

I was a NOOB and made my first fortune in Ward Consoles using a shuttle.
I am singlehandedly responsable for the Jita price increase in them going from 6K to 14K.
Too late to ride the wave as I did unless you want to go arround collecting them from system to system. I was at one point able to just buy them off the Jita BUY market 10,000 at a pop for a quick 20 million ISK profit.
20 million a run may sound petty to most of you, but for a NOOB doing level 1 missions I got to be a billionaire awful quick.
