If you're having issues against a dual prop cynabal who just tanks missiles with an AB you either have to force yourself to be fast enough for the cynabal to have to use their MWD over the AB to keep up or just bring a friend who can web it.
Are you using a drake against the cynabal? You can also try to overheat your mwd and burn in to web the cynabal during it's AB cycle before it can activate the MWD if you're using a drake. That will help with damage application for you medium missiles.
Also, a lot of cynabals use 1 anti em rig, so packing thermal (inferno) instead of em (mjolnir) against tech 1 shield tankers is actually more dps. (Assuming that you're not using trauma missiles, if you are using traumas try mjolnirs/infernos and you'll see an increase in damage, even with you losing the 25% damage bonus to your missiles by not using traumas). |

Scramwebhamdrake
I still lost the drake because there was 3 of them and 1 of me but i had the 2nd cynabal at around 30% shield when i went down.

And just incase someone asks why i didnt go for the tornado first,
I was playing undock games with the cynabal that died for 2-3mins before i engaged so that he would come close enough for me to grab him then his friends turned up after i engaged which was what i expected (i didnt want to go home in the drake, but wanted to get a kill out of it)
The tornado landed about 70km away from me and decided to shoot me from there

Pretty much this.. You get dual webs on a Cynabal and it will melt like butter. |

Let's say: he is incoming. You get to gates and wait for him. He entered and unclocked 20km away. Any ideas? |

Burn back to gate, overload webs and don't aggro (but do lock him up). He'll go for the bump because he wants the kill and is assuming you want to escape. Once he's close enough, put the webs and point on him, game over Cyna. |

one question about bolded part: isn't is strange that you try to escape and lock him at the same time? Looks suspicious for me.... |

1. Slingshot approach or bait the bump 2. Dual web 3. Laugh as it DIAF

Some people think so, but I've never seen it personally. I suppose if he's skittish, not locking him would help but I'd be concerned about his ability to burn out of web range while you're still locking.

Also, if you start locking right after he locks you, he may just assume you still have auto-lock turned on. |

I had a similar experience with my AML Caracal against a plated ABing Retribution recently. I did something like 30 DPS and it took ages to get him down. Granted, such an assault ship is the worst case for any cruiser. But I was flying THE dedicated anti-frig Caracal and tbh I expected more.
So dual web seems the way to go indeed. My thoughts about this so far:
- Advantage: it offers additional range control. Really useful on slow Caldari ships. You can keep stuff away and in range.
- Disadvantage: the Caldari missile line as a whole don't offer shield resist bonus (Kestrel -> Caracal -> new Drake -> Raven). Drake as it is now is an exception. And apparently it will changed (not that I'm unhappy with that change btw..I'd prefer a more offensive Drake). But if you invest 2 slots for dual web + 1 for tacke + 1 for propulsion you gimp your tank quite a bit. But as said you get range control in exchange. I think this is more valuable than some more HPs most of the time. At least in small scale PvP. And in bigger fleets you have dedicated ships for webbing and painting anyhow. |

No Cruiser / BC / BS should expect to be able to handle Assault Frigates easily if you do not decide to fit web + neut on it. Otherwise there would be no point in fly Assault Frigates at all. EVE is about decisions... if you want to kill small stuff then you need to fit properly for small stuff... but do not expect that this fitting will be great against large stuff. There is and should be no I-Win button (execpt naturally for the Tengu :-) which kills everyhing on sight) |
