I was clowning around and needed a noob ship to try an experimental loadout, so I bought a shuttle and self destructed it to get a pod. I then noticed I had an eve-mail, and it turned out to be a notice that I'd gotten 2000 ISK insurance on my dead shuttle! Then I remembered the 40% default insurance...
So if you have a pile of shuttles you can't recycle, you can get 2k each out of them by just blowing them up! Not exactly big bucks, but at least it beats waiting for them to sell if you have the time...

How, exactly, can you reprocess shuttles that you can't recycle?

There are no such things as shuttles that cannot be reprocessed. You are getting confused with noob ships, they cannot be reprocessed.
Why dont you just DIE DIE DIE !!!!

True, however it's rather difficult to reprocess several hundred shuttles in a station with no reprocessing facility, and moving them to one with the facility is a logistical nightmare. Ravelin Eb

800 shuttles in a station with no reprocessing facility = cannot be reprocessed.
And taking each one out one at a time to blow it up with a 2 minute time aint exxactly "worthwhile" either.

Just put em up for sale, I sell all my shuttles on the market and they provide a small steady income, I use it to tip my waitresses and buy new cord for my slavewhips and such, small expenses, yet nicely covered.

Not really viable in stations like this - as thats what everybody and their dog has done. CUrrent backlog of shuttles for sale is in the tens of thousands with everybody undercutting everybody else in an attempt to get something form them.
Its a bit of a farce and needs resolution - it was raised in this weeks CSM also so am anticipating a fix soon (ish).

This can be fixed by making shuttles very very small when they are packaged. Then there actually might be a use for shuttle bp to. __________ Capacitor research |

Well it extends beyond shuttles in reality.
Any multiple-BPO release soon renders those BPOs as being worthless. Nobody needs to ever buy them as they are in such abundant supply from the agents... harms the economy on a gradual scale that can be quite damaging over time.

If tech2 is ever fully released, that's less of a problem, because only those who can't afford tech2 products will still be using the tech1 versions. Still, you have a point.

I'll sell you my 500 shuttles in Pulin for 2kISK each. You can reprocess those and turn a profit of over 250,000ISK.
You still claim there's no such thing?

Use escrow, guys. You can't buy them yourself but someone else can! The shuttles turn up at a station with a refining facility, in a nice cardboard box.
Doh!

Am i missing something here. I thought you had to go to the station to pick up the goods that the escrow was issued on. I have had the items nicely wrapped but never had an escrowed item delivered from where it was issued

Yeah you are right of course, shaemell. I tried it once and the parcel showed up where I set the escrow, but every time since it just came back to me where the shuttles were before. Must have been a lucky, one-off bug I guess.
I guess sticking them on escrow at a silly price and hoping someone else will buy them is your only real option then.
