Edited by: Thalon on 17/02/2008 14:09:16 I dont think anything, nor i believe the guys who are stating so many "true" things here, i just take them by their words and assume what they told me would be true.....if this would be the case he'd already a new titan and also enough money to buy such one..... *g*
Another thing is, this titan was way ineffective. As his pilot prolly was, i just checked battle clinic. http://www.battleclinic.com/eve_online/pk/view.php?type=player&name=Oort&kill_tab=all#show he'd better bought him self hundreds of BS or dozens of Cap's or Moms and would have prolly killed more hostiles... and he could have insured all those ships as well.
Still -1 RA Titan

where to begin on this one: under gunned off ship bonus race, under repped, double mixed ranged points, mixed faction and t1 un best named, plated ishtar, with a rig for reducing cloaking penalties on a ship with no cloak
Ok maybe cloaking rig was mistake, however such ishtar setup was wtfpwnmobile a while ago when everyone and his dog was fitting nosfs so you just relied on hp buffer and ganked stuff. It can't really compete in age of nano, however I never lost such isthar though i killed quite a lot with it.

I guess the 300 should have ran and left their home - they had no chance of victory.
Seriously, what is wrong with you? Was the movie 'The 300' your only exposure to Greek history? Leonidas's guard and the 700 or so Thespian volunteers, and 2000 or so Thebans and Helot slaves not given permission to flee with the other 7,000 or so greeks from different city-states at that battle, were killed to the last man. The city of Sparta was sacked and burned by the Persians, along with the abandoned city of Athens and most of the Greek countryside. Greece collectively won the war at Salamis and later Marathon, eventually, but Sparta never recovered it's former power.
You guys pick the best analogies, really. Especially since you've already thrown most of your allies under the bus.
You did some research, but let yourself down with a few things. The persians never got near sparta and the battle of Marathon happened a good 10 years before the events the 300 is supposed to represent, you probably mean Platea.
The greeks went on to reclaim the greek cities of asia and the islands of the agean, with Athens becoming the main power in the mediteranean who the persians were terrified of. Unfortunately for them they annoyed the Spartans who beat them in the 27 year pelopenesian war and went on to become masters of the greek world in what is known as "the spartan hegemony". This is very far from "never recovering their former power". The were eventually beaten by Thebes, then Macedonia, then Rome but by then their crazy social system had screwed them. This has nothing to do with eve tho so i'll just say can you guys let me know next time you are going to lose a Titan cos i missed it yet again :(

Trap backfired and we stood on the battlefield, killing piles of RA capitals and half a dozen Razor reinforcement dreads till they all managed to warp/log out, then we looted battlefield afterwards. I know this because I was there (I was the first bob dread to go down). The real question is - Where was Goons with their caps? Was there even a goon cap in system? Just say'ing, thats all

Marathon was 10 years earlier than Salamis (490 Bc - 480 Bc respectively). Athens lost to Sparta in the Peloponnesean war 415Bc and then we had the Thebans and then Macedonians and then the Romans.
anyway Bob will go down eventually
Its actually generally thought the thebans stayed as well as the city of Thebes had gone over to the Persians and they would have been killed or enslaved if they returned anyway.

It wasent reset because we did not use 800 useless ships vs titan. You only need a small number of high quality ships to take titans out rather than have the attitude that pods are cheap and ships are expensive and superblob the system with mostly crap and compleatly ineffective ships. --

Titans were never designed to be an elite end game***** knocking experience doable by the elite of the elite only. They're just another ship in a system.
I'd blame CCP more for designing a system incapable of handling orders handed down to it. Like making a car with a second gear that just seizes the car up.

You could have 100 Titans and it wouldn't make a difference if only one has the balls to actually engage in combat.
Lemme get this straight: Titans for Coalition are worthless, because they dont use em. Still you celebrate their destruction as if you'd won the war. And since Coalition Titans are not engaging in battles this would mean you're losing to conventional fleets.
No! Of course you're not. I assume your killboard stats are totally 10:1 or something. And now you even equalized the Titan-K:D against RSF (not talking about online/offline crap, RSF killed one of your's,you killed one of their's).
PS: post contains irony
I honestly have no idea what point you're trying to make here. No the coalition Titans are not useless. The jump bridge is easily the most important and useful aspect of the titan. Just because they're not in combat doesn't mean they're doing nothing. Although looking at how often i see RSF Titans online I think it's safe to say they're useless.
I would expect an SHC member to use their main to banter with me on CAOD but given the ******** logic in your post I can see why you'd use an alt.

"Smacking guys like Fred0" is good for the game.
In my opinion, he is one of the more intelligent and reasonable leaders in the game. It is guys like us who had the foresight to gather resources early-on in the game, to be able to support those who go and fight on the front lines. We work behind the scenes, and make critical decisions that create the content that makes Eve great.
Don't mean to single you out necessarily Fred0, but there aren't a whole lot of people like us who have similar vision and staying power to make epic conflict interesting.
Going back in history, lessons learned in the PA war, aka the Great Northern War, brings conflict like this one in the south possible. We learned then that logistics is the real power in Eve. When you make the logistics guys angry/motivated, the impossible becomes possible. Newer logistics gurus who didn't have to ninja megacyte in Probes through gatecamps just to replace a few BS's don't know what they missed.
I love to ramble FYI.
And I love my fellow eve behind the scenes guys, no matter what side they play for this week.
<3 to those who built Oort's titan, it is your hard work that makes conflict great.
Be glad you donut have to help build Shrike's ships.
Oh, and WTB allies.
