Well. I managed to reinstall the client thinking it's corrupt over that incomatible protocol thingy. Did not help.

Arggh. I don't have this folder. I get up to the all users folder but there is not Application Data folder.

This should work. What I did instead: I renamed the folder contained in ...CCP\EVE\ (added 1 ".x" so I could change it back easily).
Now I can log on.

Its hidden by default. You got to enable it in the folderoptions...

It's a hidden/system folder, check your folder options in Windows Explorer.

rename not working as i have windows xp

This patch fixed only one issue? Sure seemed like more then that was patched with 56 files patched. Are they sneaking something else in?

Worked for me too, just renamed the file to be safe...
However is anyone else spending 20 minutes "Acquiring Bulk Data"?

Depends on how you are set up I guess....but all my settings are in C:\Documents and Settings\<myusername>\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE folder, not the all users one.
I'm now logged in with all settings intact - hurrah.
