I have the latest patch, yet I am getting this error. Any clues? The client itself told me that I might have this issue and sent me to a page that had no help. Fantastic.

Got the same thing, have the servers even gone up though? I just figured it was because the servers were down. this is the opinion of me personally and not my alliance/andorcorp |

Plain english:
If you are getting the error "Incompatible (Protocol)" when trying to connect to Tranquility post Trinity 1.0.2 patch, it is because of this previous patch. To alleviate the problem you need to do one of the following:
1. Go into the following directory, and delete the contents: XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CCP Vista: C:\ProgramData\CCP Mac: /Users//Library/Preferences/EVE Online Preferences/p_drive/All Users/Application Data/CCP Linux: /.cedega/EVE Online/c_drive/Documents and Settings/All Users/Application Data 2. If you using a shortcut to launch Eve, you can simply change the case of the link, for example change C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE to C:\program files\ccp\eve

this means that i can not delete the contents because i have nothing called Documents and Settings under (C) and i havent got anything thats called all users...
i just dont know where i have to delete theese contents

I now crash everytime I log in. Get Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library error on the ExeFile.exe.
Strange, only happens with one char on one account.

Edited by: Karl Halyard on 19/02/2008 15:52:35 It says delete the content not the folder. It worked for me.
Try renaming instead of deleting, so you can go back.

Edited by: Agil TradeAlt on 19/02/2008 15:52:45 Is it safe to download patch yet for those who have not patched?
FFS, every patch CCP does it breaks something.

The folder that should be deleted is:
C:\Docs&Settings\All users.WINDOWS\Application Data\CCP
not the cache folder

Im running a swedish vista 64 and I dont have anything called C:\ProgramData\CCP.. I have the folder called c:\program (x86)\CCP in wich eve is installed but I highly doubt that deleting the contents in that folder will help me the slightest..
