I am in a corp that is part of Alliance X. Today I received a mail from concord telling me that Z alliance has declared war against X (which I am part of).
Now I know that if a corp declare war against another corp they can exchange fire in high sec without concord steping in.
I would like to know: 1-if this is also valid for alliance X aliance 2-any corp from within Z alliance can open fire on any corp within X alliance without punishment? 3-What means MUTUAL in the corp/war window? 4-I am constantly hauling stuff in freighter and AFK and high sec, should I change my habits based on that war declaration?
Thanks a lot.

1. I believe yes 2. Whilst the wardec is on, yes 3. never did get the meaning of the "mutual" tag on the wardecs. They always showed up as mutual to me. 4. Yes, change your hauling habits. Once at war, nowhere is safe. -

Anyone else would like to confirm this info or make observations?

Mutual means two alliances are duking it out mutually at no cost to either alliance (i believe, this is how it works for corp vs corp).
Its the same as corp vs corp warfare only its a group of corps against a group of corps.

1. Yes 2. Yes 3. It means both sides agree to the war and no fees are paid. Originally it was added so that RP alliances could be permanently at war without paying any bills, e.g. UK vs CVA. Later alliances used it so those dec'ing them couldn't pull out of the war claiming they couldn't afford it any more, i.e. they chose a stronger foe than they thought and wanted to find easier targets. 4. Only if you don't want to lose billions of ISK worth of stuff.
