It seems as if everyone prefers the Raven for running level 4 missions, but how do the other ships stack up. I would be interested to see peoples list of the top 10 tech 1 level 4 mission running ships.

Dominix is up there with the raven, apparently even better in some missions, probably overall 2nd to the raven.

#1 Maelstrom.
3 damage mods in lows. Melts every mission with ease.

raven and domi are on top as they can do any damage type they want to.
raven can choose missiles and domi can choose drones
then come maelstroms, abaddons and so on.
they shine when you go against more spesiffic types of enemy.
like amarr missions.. you fight mostly sansha nad blood (em damage)
like minmatar missions where you fight mostly angels (explosive damage)
like gallente missions where you go aiaginst serps (thermal/kinetic damage)
like caldari missions where you shoot mostly gurista (kinetic/thermal damage)
depends what race you like most to fly. all races have very good mission ships.

thats my way of seeing them... other may and will dissagree.
when i ran missions i used a raven to start whit. then moved on to astarte and later used a sleipnir aswell

Apoc have worked very well for me since lvl 4's arrived.
When I got a 2nd account, I switched to the geddon.
I have tried lvl 4's in a Raven and it works, but it's best when you are alone. When I got a guardian to assist the geddon, it just soared up in performance. The raven just didn't compare with a guardian as support. The time it took to kill stuff was just to long compared to the geddon. Mainly because I fit 3 tracking computers in mids on the geddon. I bring bother range and tracking scripts.

Having tried Dominix, Abaddon, Raven in that order I became very impressed with Raven and wanted to upgrade to CNR .. stumbled upon a good deal for a Nightmare, trained to lvl4 large lasers .. haven't looked back since.
Top 4 (only did missions in these :) )
Nightmare w. Navy Tachyons (just can't beat 700dps/50km)
Raven w. Cruise Launchers (boring as hell)
Dominix w. Sentries/Rails (drone replacements add up)
Abaddon w. Mega Pulses (too much cap micromanagement)
Side Note: For level threes a command ship with gank fittings make almost as much as level fours and gets far more of the lucrative cruiser size modules.

Nightmare is king of em/therm week targets, and a epic king at that
Caldari navy raven is teh win for the rest pretty much, due to it's flexibility and shiny dps
Most battleships apart from the Scorpion can hadle themselves more or less decently, each with weeknesses and advantages, beaing the reason for the ravens popularity

Pah, A shield boosting logistic swith Raven = win.
But 2 ravens are better than a logistic + geddon

I use a Drake. I assume most don't consider it because of the DPS.

There is no top 10 that many people will agree with.
I my self think the typhoon if set up right is better than the raven but given the ammout of caldari player's hardly any one will agree with that.
More or less every ship but the scorp is a good LVL 4 runner.
Death is great rember where all dying to get there. |

I would think not. The extra tracking bonus looks neat, but in missions (with that fast a ship anyway) if you allow the baddies to get that close you are doing something wrong. That and it is pretty much an armour tanker so not going to get alot of damage mods on it effectively.
Could be wrong.

Against Drones/Bloods/Sansha, definetely. I've pretty much said that so myself already.
But even against Guristas, it's outclassed by just about any Caldari missile boat, and against Angels it's downright laughable how much its effective DPS sinks below the effective DPS a CNR can dish out, for instance.
