Edited by: Coiasira on 03/03/2008 15:43:58 I was playing around yesterday with some interesting setups for my lovely Vagabond, intended to run lvl 3 missions. I came up with this.
High 650mm Artillery Cannon II (Tremor M) 650mm Artillery Cannon II (Tremor M) 650mm Artillery Cannon II (Tremor M) 650mm Artillery Cannon II (Tremor M) 650mm Artillery Cannon II (Tremor M)
Med Tracking Computer II (Tracking Speed Chip) Tracking Computer II (Tracking Speed Chip) F-90 Positional Sensor Subroutines (Targeting Speed Chip) 10mn MicroWarpdrive II
Low Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Capacitor Power Relay II Capacitor Power Relay II Capacitor Power Relay II
Rigs Ancillary Current Router II Ancillary Current Router II
The kicker with this setup is the speed from the MW which, thanks to the 3 CAP Relays can run forever. EFT gives me a constant speed of 2562 m/s.
Optimal on the guns is 35+18 km. Signature Radius with the MWD is 747.5 m2.
The idea is naturally to orbit at 40km and rip everything to pieces, keeping the range intact with the MWD.
I realize that I am a pesky low SP n00b, who might have stumbled on a well known/useless setup, hence I was wondering what you all people have to say about it. Is this viable for some lvl 3 missions? Can I go further?
Comments, critique, spitting is welcome.

vagas for missions make baby jesus cry
also you cant use you 10MN MWD is 90% of the mission and with your no tank it oculd be an expensive hobby.
try the munin its meant for what you want and does missions pretty well :)

Indeed it is, I can see that now when trying it out in EFT. Although you loose some speed, you get alot more dmg, and thanks to the AB instead of a MWD you have all your Low Slots to play with. I'll try this out. Thanks for your help.

Note the optimal range bonus. Should be hitting 60k optimalish.

Step slowly away from EFT mate.
You just got saved from an expensive and potentially embarrassing lossmail.

Edited by: Tefkros on 04/03/2008 07:14:16 A pvp fitted Vagabond with ACs, modified with a 10 MN AB II, 3 gyros and maybe a hardener instead of a scram can easily waste lvl 3s. Especially with faloff rigs. Tracking from both you and the rat must be taken into consideration, but it¦s not that hard. No need for comedy setups :)

hey hey
Actually . . . I used a 650mm Vaga for some of the cosmos missions :)
your problems are :
1) NO WEB. NPC frigates can swarm you in seconds and you will be webbed then pretty much die to everything else.
2) JIP. With alot of mission your JIP will dictate a big part of your mission setup and tactics. You really are going to need to get in and align and run ASAP. or again your toast.
3) ORBIT. With your speed as protection you will out track your own guns. Your tactic should be to warp in and align. Bounce your distances to control the spawns and keep outside their lock/hit ranges.
4) TREMOR. This stuff really blows and even more so for missions. Your tracking is even more gimped so hitting frigates that orbit you isnt gonna happen. If you want the range then go nuke but if your fighting NPC's then you should go racial. As your matari then your racial pie is Angels. They hate explosive so you should be loaded up with Fusion
5) TANK/BUFFER. Well you plainly havent got one :/ you only have cruiser sized hp and the resist on the vaga isnt high enough to compensate for any damage you take so your going to either continually warp out or race to survive. with your sig radius being so high you will suffer with higher damage and everything on the mission will have no effort hitting you. Angels also Target Paint :/
6) SP. The smaller the ship the higher the SP you need to fly it effectivly. With lower SP take a ship which over compensates for your level. (eg1). A BC on a L2 could easily go in untanked with small gunz and survive. and (eg2). A high skilled frigate/AF pilot could clear a L3.
Hope that helps
