Well, subject says it all. How many times a day do you convo compared to "show info" on a character? I know I do "show info" a hundred times more often than i convo with strangers and friends alike...
Actually i have more than one time accidentally started a convo with someone i just wanted to check discreetly 
So lets change this feature to something useful.
What are your thoughts?

Well that's most likely just a cosmetic thing but double-clicking should of course bring up the "show info" box on a character.
I for myself also accidentally started a few convos through this, that's annoying.

It's not only annoying that you sometimes open a convo with someone you just want to check (and who shouldn't know about this), you can control this somehow by being more cautious. But it is particularly annoying when you get convoed by others who just accidentally double clicked you. You can't control that if you do not automatically reject all convos.
Furthermore, the accidental double clicks often result from lag, which is REALLY annoying.

This would be a great change, IMHO. I hope someone at CCP reads this thread and relays the message to whomever can make the change possible.

/signed, I have done this before. Sometimes its ok as you can cancel at the CSPA screen, but some people turn their CSPA off

Yes, YEs and YES!
Crap happens when I want to see people's portraits in a channels, it's not hard to end double clicking instead of clicking next one!
Also, right click and show info is not right for the most common action.

how about this?
double-click = show info
alt + double-click (in same station) = trade
shift + double-click = convo
ctrl + double-click = evemail
ctrl + shift + double-click = fleet invite

Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |

Sounds good, although i have always felt that these kind of actions should be user definable shortcuts, so that you decide on the key combination you like. But Eve has always been extremely limited in this  |
