Greetings.
I have been unable to get anti-aliasing to work with premium graphics enabled. It works fine in non-premium. I was told by one person it doesnt work, by another only with HDR off. I have it off, and I have both AA and AF enabled in my invidia settings, but no go. Anyone know how to get them to work with premium?

I got it to work by downloading nhancer http://www.nhancer.com/ and using the EVE presets.

Edited by: accl on 05/03/2008 23:41:07 I've got the same anti aliasing problem. Have read the forums about it and found out that eve acts funny about aliasing. So it's not a guarantee that it'll work on all machines. I'm running it on 1680x1050 with gt8600 & vista and can't get antialiasing even with nhancer. Tried all the possible combinations/settings. No sign of it ever turning on.

I guess you are running an Nvidia card. AA and HDR at the same time is by default disabled in the drivers. This is a common problem and many old games (Like Oblivion) that had HDR could not simultaneously run AA.
However, with NHancer, it is possible, since NHancer will reprogram the drivers and override any settings. And if you have a high end card (8XXX), you will be able to successfully run HDR+AA at the same time. Use the Oblivion compability mode to run both AA and HDR. This works successfully under Windows XP. Can't speak for Vista. And it does not work together with Linux and Wine. At least not yet.

Well, thanks for all the advice. I just tried the Oblivion compability mode again and with no luck. Tried enabling, disabling HDR ingame. Tried different AA settings from nhancer. I guess I've tried all the possible combinations there. With bloom and without. The result is always the same - negative AA. Maby it's because Vista, that would be the last explanation.

I cant get it to work with nforce either. I tried it in oblivion compatability mode in both global and the eve profile. Perhaps its the SLI thats causing the problem. Im running a 7950 GX, which is 2 cards sandwiched together to run in SLI, or maybe because in not running a 8XXX card. Its very frustrating. I guess Ill run the non-premium with AA, as it looks better than premium without AA until I can figure this out.

AFAIK, your hardware does not support AA + HDR turned on simultaniously. you need the 8x Series or above from Nvidia, not sure which ATI counterpart you need.

Running premium and its always a pain to get AA running but works for me. Last time i reinstalled eve i put AA on via graficcard but no effect ingame so i tried something hopefully AA would work somehow.
Funny to say that after i switched hdr on and deactivated it after switching it on, AA suddently worked.
Maybe this will do the trick for some of you. Activate AA in your graphic card setting than log into eve and activate hdr. Deactivate it and check if AA is running. worked for me at least...
Try and error i like this:)

Edited by: Esphere on 07/03/2008 11:24:10 I Agree that this is really annoying - while its solvable for certain newer NVIDIA cards, the problem persists for all ATI/AMD GPUs.
see my other post and bump it if you are an ATI owner ;) http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=718077

After installing and setting up nforce I have lost AA in non-premium now as well, lol. Im not even worried about HDR, I just want to get AA working in premium. Its driving me mad. what the heck could be keeping it from enabling?
