Edited by: BorisHotch on 05/03/2008 23:07:47 There is a now a new channel available called "HelpMyMission".
This has been created following what I believe is something missing from Eve, i.e. a place to find people happy to help you out on a mission. It has been created to allow people to join it and ask for help doing missions they are having trouble with.
It's a place which I hope will be used by more experienced people willing to help out other players.
It's not only for newer players tho, as anyone can ask for help, from lvl 1 to lvl 4 missions.
To Join, click the Channels Button on the left and Join HelpMyMission channel.
If anyone is reported as abusing the system (as in pirating) they will be blocked from the channel, as its aimed to actually be helpful for people, and the reputation is everything in a channel like this.
Another plus side is it's also a good way to make new friends and potential new Corp members.
As more people hear about it, hopefully it will become a very useful place to get some help 8)
This is totally genuine, and has helped out quite a few people so far, ranging from new players struggling on lvl 1's to lvl 4 Enemies Abound Part 5 missions |

We are getting our name out there now, and have had 59 people on last night. It is going very well, with many very experienced players helping out.
There is also now a forum created for it, with info and ship setups etc.
It can be found at http://helpmymission.forum2u.org/

The distance thing is getting better each day, as more areas get covered, but the plus side is there's a lot of people happy to do a lot of jumps to help out

Yep, there is always that risk.
Unfortunately there are a lot of people in eve that cannot be trusted, but the way I think of it is that it's a LOT safer to ask for help from someone in the channel, as trust is something that needs to be earnt instead of taken for granted.
If you ask for help in local channel, it's a bigger risk in my opinion, as our channel is somewhere to see what's happening, and to get to see the good help that's going on.
Lots of people just go there for a while to see what its all about, till they feel comfortable with the idea.
If anyone is caught ganking etc, they will be barred as soon as its reported to me.
Hopefully, this channel will continue to grow as it's been doing , with a lot of good genuine people who realise it's only a game (did I really just say that lol) which costs us all RL money to play so should be a place for fun

Quick update:
We have now had up to 80 people in there at times, and it's definately growing in popularity.
We have also changed our forum to http://www.helpmymission.com/forums with a new look and better functionality.
We've also set up a competition for the most helpful person in the channel getting a Raven BS as a way of thanking them for being active in the channel. |
