I am new to pvp, so I can use all the help I can get. Last night I were in a big fight, and for the first time I experienced the silliness (yes its silly to see ships go from 22km to 150km in a couple secs) of nano fitted small ships.
What of any ships is the best to catch/kill em? And what fitting would be best for said ship?
Already skilling up for a stealth bomber, will this be a good ship to kill nanoships? Can they easily be fitted for 'silly speed'?
Also, can someone give me info on electronic warfare like scramblers and webbers and how they work? Dont have to be a ultra long, even just the basics will help a pvp noob like me.
Another thing, something strange happend last night before I got poped and poded. Before my ship went down almost all my cap was drained in just a few secs. How is this possible after the NOS nerf? I were in a Drake btw.

There is really not much that can KILL a nano hac except another if we are talking 1 vs 1 odds. -------------------------------------- [Video]Skirmish Warfare |

It's possible to kill nanogangs, if they want to engage you, or you manage to put up a gatecamp and catch em. They are slippery, very slippery, so actually getting one killed is hard. A good nanopilot can get away from almost any gatecamp unless they meet some/ all of these requirements (almost optimal skills and fit, maybe even implants since many use em):
o You have a very large bubble, a large T2 preferably. o You have almost instalocking rapiers, minimum 1, maybe even 2 sensor booster II's or faction. o A fast point, a ceptor or perhaps an Arazu/ lachesis for a longrange point. Remember, a nanoship is really fast, sometimes flying faster than a ceptor.
Main problem: The nanoship will press MWD, maybe even overheating it, and will get away relying on that your reactiontime and the little delay there is in the game will enable him to be out of range already. Counter? Yes, there are very strong counters.
In a fight with nanoships they will use speed as their advantage, duh? They will (usually) try to make your fleet spread out and kill off inties and lonely ships getting out far from mainfleet, and they are very good at it. So a lonely ceptor won't catch em.
To beat a nanogang, and I mean pop everyone of em, you need like a rapier and an arazu for every nanoship, my point is, you won't. You'll catch some, rest will flee and once again use speed as an advantage. To not take losses vs a nanogang, stay together. Fit to counter nanoes.
Smartbombs saves you a lot of damage if engaged by ishtars, but only if you have 1-2 large ones since med and small won't kill t2 ogre's fast enough.
Also neuts are highly effective, but once again, they are likely to be able to get away from you once you neut em since they have a few seconds of MWD left, but it'll help you since they won't be able to keep engaging you, CURSE IS AWESOME, a nanokiller.
Webs: ok, normal webs are not gotta get you very far, although overloaded factionwebs with gangbonuses might get you a nanopilot killed here and there, they generally don't expect long webs from normal ships. Rapiers are awesome.
ECM: VERY powerful counter. A blackbird permajam around 2, 3 if very lucky and good skills. Use a blackbird with 5-6 racial jammers . Falcon or rook is VERY good. All of this ECM:ing awesomeness done at like a hundred km.
Point: Long range point is also a key to victory, once engaged, they will run away, either with speed or just warp off. Simply getting a web on them is not enough. Arazu/ lachesis is very good for this.
Destroyers/ frigs/ ceptors/ random small frigate sized ships: Not very useful for chasing nanoships, as they will pop you, and very fast in general, a ceptor is better then nothing clearly, and might get you a kill or two, or get you a warpin closer to them.
Conclusion: Recons is the best way to kill nanogangs. Long range point, web, ecm, neuts. Awesome. Wait. These are also (once again, in general) most powerful nanoed since then they can not only act like stationary turrets but move quickly and be able to get away.
Spidertanking BS fleet is one way to do it, you won't take much losses.. since you spidertank.. although, your not likely to kill much since BS spiders need to stay close to eachother, suffers the limit of not being super fast and agile, so your not likely to get so many kills. The nanogang will just disengage and move away to next system with juicy ratters/ other nice targets/ home.

Sorry, but your wall of text kinda fails.
1) You can MWD to gate. 2) You can pick your fights.
Nanosetup = you need to screw up to die.

The best ship for killing nanoships is another nanoship.
Some people would say that a classic sign of imbalance is when something is its own counter. I suppose it really depends on your definition of "counter"... plenty of things can drive off or enable you to survive a nanoship, but actually tackling and killing one is a different matter.

This -- but bring equivalent skill too. And yes nano pilots will take on an even fight against good pilots.
And it only seems like they hit 150 in a few seconds. It'll seem like a lot longer and the fight will slow down when you get better.

Get a minmat Marauder .. and snipe it ..
It will pop Bs' and hacs with one volley or shot ...
100% damage bonus ...
youll hit at around 200 k easy enough and pop for 10 k hit points a shot easy.

As per Ryysa...rapier/huggin.
Or for people that actually can THINK, web drones. With drone mods my corp mates had web drones go likt 5-7km. I could be wrong with the exact speeds, since it was a while ago when nano ships were more popular (before nerf).
Again, mwd makes sig radius so big get a few nice mael snipers set up, etc (remember their tank is all speed, so their actual tank is basically non-existent).
Nanoships are strong because the pilot has invested lots of isk into the ship, why shouldn't it be strong.

Doesn't work that way. Marauders get 1/2 the number of turrets, so they have the same alpha as a 8 turret BS.
