I'm really stuck with deciding which one to use, Ive used the vexor for a while and really kinda want a change and was thinking about the thorax, does anyone have a good solid build for just level 1's for the thorax? pref. T1 stuff cause I am fairly new. If you wanna throw in a good Mission vexor build while your at it i wouldnt mind either, but i would prefer a good thorax setup

I don't have any setups, but... I'd think the vexor would be better for level 1s anyway (due to the high volume of frigates and junk).
Could try looking here for details.

I wouldn't really recommend a cruiser for level 1s at all, it's complete overkill. A destroyer is more than enough to plow through them. If you really want to, it depends on how your skills are looking at the moment - do you have more skills in drones or gunnery? If gunnery, Thorax will be good. If drones, stick with the Vexor. ---- In the beginning the Universe was created. In general,
For missions, Vexor will outperform THorax until you have good gunnery skills. Guns only start to shine when you being to have a half dozen or more skills trained to 3 or 4 (or 5).
Until then, you will be often frustrated by ships that move too fast for your tracking or are too far away for your range etc.
This is why the vexor with its drone damage set up is a great ship. Even at low SP drones will fly to their targets and do some nice damage.
This being said, here is some general advice.
For vexor: Train for Hammerhead II's and train up drone interfacing (skill) to level 3 or 4. You will do outstanding damage.
Check old forum postings for actual set ups - there are lots. In general though - you will be much happier in the vexor until you have about 2-3mil SP in guns.

Hey there.
The vexor really is a good missioning boat but drones can get a bit boring at times. I used to mission in a Thorax with blasters but I've thrown together a rail fit as well.
Rail Rax Highs 5 200mm rails Meds 2 Cap Recharger 1 Stasis Webifier Lows 1 Medium Armor Repairer 3 Resist Mods tailored to the mission. 1 Power diagnostic System Drone Bay 5 Hammerheads
Blaster Rax Highs 5 Heavy Ion Blasters Mids 1 10MN Afterburner 1 Stasis Webifier 1 Cap Recharger Lows 1 Medium Armor Repairer 3 Resist Mods tailored to the mission. 1 Magnetic Field Stabilizer
The rail setup is probably better to start with as it's more cap stable meaning you can run your Armor Repairer for longer while even with my skills the Blaster setup will cap out after 1m 33s so you'll want to use the afterburner spareingly to get into range. You will melt things a lot faster though but it depends more on actual player skill in manageing everything. If you want to go into pvp at some point practicing in a mission with a blaster rax can teach you a fair bit about monitering all the various things that can happen. Plus it's just a fun ass ship to fly

L1/L2 Vexor setup
Stick with Hobgoblins for L1 missions, Hammerheads (or Hobgoblins II) for L2 missions. For L1 missions you'll only need a Small Armor Repairer which will make the rest of the fitting much easier.
