Honestly, in the last year the quality of posts has deteriorated significantly on the Eve-O forums.
Lately all I see in the Ships and General forums are arguments for changes to this or changes to that,how the poster's favorite ship has been grossly overnerfed or why the devs are picking on them particularly.
Folks, for real, chill guys. This game is unique, it's incredible and as an old timer the best piece of advice I could give anyone is -adapt- to your game. It's a living thing and bound to change. As a drone pilot who primarily relied on noses and (of course) drones, I've seen some of the 'worst' so called nerfs come about. I hear daily posts about how the curse/pilgrim suck (my ship of choice)when it's evidently not considering the personal successes I've had with the ship in the worst of situations.
My point, and I am getting around to it, is rather than automatically barf out a post about how something in the game totally sucks to you, think about why you feel this way, work out considerations of things that maybe you aren't trying. Test test test! If after a whole whack of testing with your ship/problem you are still finding issues THEN post.
Saying inane things like "nerf titans" or "Everyone else got a boost, why not Minmatar" just clutters up the forums with useless junk and makes it harder for pilots to sift through the posts to the useful bits of advice.
Anyhow, I'm sure I'm encouraging the trolls to come out but I felt I couldn't keep quiet about it. It is my fear that eventually a few extremely loud camps who aren't necessarily playtesting the issue in question may sway public opinion enough to effect a change that could be worse than the problem that begun the whole thing.

Yes it is, but how else is one supposed to complain about the whining. I completely agree with the OP. I know this would never happen, but I'd love CCP to kick all the whiners off, let them suffer WoW or SWG or whatever for a week and then let them back in.
This game is about adapting, if you can't adapt, then leave.

to be honest, when i left WoW, people followed me like ants follow their queen, because WoW is at a stage where lots of people are quitting until the next expansion, and a lot of people from wow are not that intelligent and it is possible that is why it seems like dumbass posts are cropping up a lot more often

EvE has been pulling in a lot of trial accounts lately and they are allowed to post on the forums. There is a lot of constructive criticism going on in the forums even if some people may mistakenly pull out a whiny subtext.
At the same time, a lot of people cross the line of reason. Nerf whiners are on the top of the annoying list because balance is balance and a good player knows how to use the tools s/he has no matter what happens.
There also seems to be a lot of people who hopped in without reading "What is Eve?", i.e. the vision of the game and complain on the forums about their (*cough* carebear) vision of the game. I am thoroughly convinced that a lot of this has to do with EvE being the only "space pilot" game released in a very long time and one of the only Sci-Fi MMOs. When EvE gets large enough I imagine some competitor would try to snatch these people with a less cutthroat sci-fi MMORPG. I'm staying. :)

I admit I'm finding the new wave of goon whining kinda amusing, all things considered.
The funny thing is these eft warriors likely put vastly more energy into mindlessly wittering about game balance when they have little clue about than they do about real world issues, so really why should anyone give a toss about anything those selfish, ignorant cretins say?
It's a game with totally fictitious rules that were never and will never be set in stone, either play along with the new rules and have fun or stfu.
btw hotels are imba if i land on mayfair i will lose the game, nerf hotels i don't wanna lose1!1

If CCP remove the.. Loading grid, loading char, fleet combat lag and other such anti-carebear suckage i'll return to 0.0.
But funny thing is, I pay to play this game, sitting waiting for grids, chars and other server side related cack isn't playing it's a waste of time. Missions suck balls even i agree, but hey at least i've got a fighting chance of seeing the thing that pops me.

The only reason I play Eve these days is to grief ppl. Not regular ppl mind you, but ppl who I feel deserve it.
No matter how much they say they dont care, EVERYbody is griefable, everybody gets annoyed, that's just a mind game they play.
The nice thing about Eve is that a large percentage of the Eve playerbase are scum in RL, so there are no conscience problems for me in griefing them.
God loves you and wants you to be happy, thats why theres automatic weapons and lots of people who deserve to be shot.
Don't ask why. Ask why not.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

Well, all it takes is one overzealous nerf to send you into a cycle of nerfage. Sometimes it's the right answer, but if it's just a bandaid because you don't understand the problem and it's underlying causes, you'll just muck things up more.
OP is right, this game IS unique - but that's a two edged sword, because if a new alternative came without some of the things I consider my pet peeves, I'd be gone pretty fast. And ironically, those things that bug me aren't "this boat got nerfed" or "this is overpowered", it's often the whipsaw-pattern of overreactions and unintended consequences.

I think you should adapt.
I.E dont read the threads.
Many "whine threads" have many points that are extremely valid. We do after all in many cases have to beta test portions of this gsme.
