First of all - Thank you all from Ev0ke! It was an amazing Tournament from our point of view! The organisation was good and the Eve-TV coverage was a really good show. Thanks to all of you ladies and gentlemen that worked hard to make this tournament what it was in the end - unparalleled!
There have been so many close situations and strong Alliances to fight. Thank you especially to Triumvirate, for this incredible exciting final! One more Capbooster and you would have won instead of us. If there was only one price we would have shared it with you guys. Also thanks to everybody else who competed in this tournament.
To be honest i really did not expect that this will be so much hard work. This have been such intense weeks and this tournament showed me once again how incredible Eve is. Thank you CCP for this great event. And finally thanks to Outbreak who believed in us all the time.
After we managed to get beyond the group stages, every match felt for us like a Bonus Round. We hoped to get into the Quaterfinals, but we totally didn't expected that we will be able to get into the finals.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So after all credits were given where they were due - here is a little Summary from our Point of View:
Preparation: We started to do training Sessions on Singularity about 6 - 8 weeks before the Torunament. We tried to train twice a week as good as we could, but we had been low on numbers sometimes. We also still had the Tortuga-Operations running everyday and moved out of Period Basis in the week before the first tournament weekend. That made it a little bit more complicated for us. We originally planned to work together with Outbreak, but they have been rather busy at that time so we decided to keep it within Ev0ke to make it easier for us.
Day 2: Evoke vs Atlas
It was our first match so we decided to use our "Dual-Logistic + Harbinger + Curse + Ruptures Setup". It was our most balanced one at that point of time. Decent DPS, decent tank and the abillity to break a logistic tank with ECM-drones and cap-destruction. We thought that there was a good chance that Atlas will adapt to the use of dual logistic setups on the first day and they did. People wondered why our damgage came so late - we had no smartbombs so we started with shooting their ECM-drones only. After we finished this job we deployed our own. We also had the Advantage with the Curse so we were able to win in the end.

Day 3: Evoke vs The Five
The match against The Five gave us a hard time before it even started. We had to gain some experience against their "Bombers + Duallogistics" setup so we spend some time developing a setup against it. During that time we found out that some information about our new setup could have leaked out. I was pretty worried but Pacman told us to stick with it and not to worry. He told us if even the small posibillity that we have been spied was true they would be unable to develop a setup against ours in such a short amount of time. So we sticked to our plan and to what we've already trained. The Setup we fielded was "2 megas + 2 Guardians + 2 Speed Vigils". It was originally designed to break the stealthbombers with a concentrated Alpha Strike but did quite well also against the setup The Five came up with.
The Five basically fielded a variation of our setup on day 2 with thoraxes instead of ruptures. The Curse could have been really painful for us but we knew how this setup worked and kept cool. During this match The Five was able to drop one of our guardians nearly into structure, with the other guardian jammend by ECM-Drones at that time. After a short ammount of time we were able to smartbomb the enemy ECM-Drones and our guardians came back again with overheated Remote Repairs. Now we were going into the offense and started to deploy our own ECM-Drones. Luckily the Curse did not affected our capacitor management that much so we were able to hold the Guardians and apply all DPS we have in the setup. Finally we have been the lucky ones and our ECM-Drones jammed one enemy Guardian repeatedly what gave us the time to kill the other one. The remaining fight was simply cleaning the floor and and we could obtain our second Victory.
Day 4: Evoke vs Destiny
Destiny assumed that we will bring the Dual-Logistics again and so they fielded a setup what seemed to be constructed especially for that. We somehow predicted that they will field alot of cap destruction ability to kill a Dual-Logistics setup, so we switched our setup accordingly and fielded six Ruptures, a Harbinger, a nano curse, and a Vigil. We were lucky, they came with something that we expected so we had the advantage and the fight in our bag before it even started. Although no total helldeath this time but that wasn't something we aimed for with this setup. |

Day 5: Evoke vs Divine Order
In their previous match Divine Order fielded a pretty tight setup: "Bhaalgorn, Abbadon and 2 x Guardians". Because this worked so well against The Five, which shocked us a bit to be honest, we have been pretty sure that they would bring it again. From the tactical point of view Divine Order was still able to get on top of our group although they would need a total helldeath for that. So we decided to field a very very defensive setup. We brought out a Scorp with Ammar jammers, two Vigils with damps, and a Cruise Raven supported by two Basilisks. It was a setup constructed to counter the bhaalgorns cap destruction primarily. Although Divine Order didn't done us the favour and brought a completely different setup: "Rapier, Mega, 2x Guardian, Rifter, Blackbird".
It looked like a stalemate for quite a while, but one of our vigils had to leave his high orbit around the rapier since he was already very close to the edge of the arena and got himself webbed. The combined enemy damage was just too much so we had not been able to keep the speed fitted vigil alive with our logistic ships. After some failed attempts to kill the enemy rapier with the cruise missiles while keeping the Guardians jammed we finally decided to give it a go with the enemy blackbird. It gave us a very hard time, our Scorp was jammed alot and our dps was low anyway and not direct so we needed at least two jamming cycles to achieve something. Nearly at the end of the match we overheated all our jammers until the Blackbird finally died. Smartbombing the lone enemy rifter that was parking close to our BS was the bonus of this match. In the end we had won this match by points but for sure it was the worst match from us so far. Our performance was suboptimal or we simply had our welp/bad luck day.
Final Day: Ev0ke vs Fourth District
So we ended up on first place in our Group with the 4th District as our first oponent in the finals. We knew that from now on all fights will be "do or die" situations. If you loose you're out. So we decided our first setup of the day to be a very offensive one. 3x Neutron Megathrons together with 5x Griffins and 2x Maulus was the first setup we wanted to field. Our analysis of 4th District showed us that they either used heavy missile spammage or guardian based setups in the group stage. We were comfortable with both variants and were pretty sure that our setup would work against both. We knew that even if we loose all frigates we still would be able to kill a dual guardian setup just with raw DPS.
The 4th District finally fielded 1x Raven and 4x Drakes. We also get a bit lucky with the warpin how it seemed. Our Megathrons were just 20-30km of the enemy group. Basically from the start of the match our EWar-Frigates were primary targets either by drones or by missiles but in the end they did the job very well. The Megathrons started to work on the Raven first and it went down pretty quickly. With the Raven down we started to kill of the Drakes with the knowledge that this match is ours.

Final Day: Ev0ke vs Hun Reloaded
I took this one pretty personal since i remember Hun giving us a hard time with guerilla-warfare some time ago. Also they have been the last champions pretty much one of the strongest enemy¦s you could be up against in this tournament. I was very anxious to win this one. Hun`s previous fight was won with 10 Artillery Ruptures. A Setup that can blow out a massive Alpha Strike and lot's of Damage. But to be honest we didn't expected that they bring it again. Our expectation was that they are switching back to the core setup they used at least 2x times in the group stages which consisted of 2x basilisks, 1x rook and 1x curse. We choosed to alter our setup that way that we were able to beat 2 Basilisks for sure and therefore used AC Tempests. The AC Tempest is making less damage overall compared to a Neutron Megathron but the ability to switch damage type and the overall better DPS versus Basilisk's resistances made it the better choice here. Also the Tempests have 2 free utility high slots which were spent for neutralizers, remote rep and smartbombs. So we fielded 3x AC Pests and again 5x Griffin and 2x Maulus. As we arrived in the tournament system we were completely surprised that Hun Reloaded brought out the Ruptures again.
We warped the Tempests into the arena at 0km and the EWar frigs at 50km. We had a bit of luck again because Hun warped in at 20km how it seemed. So we distributed targets for ECM-Drones, EW and finally Damage and Neutralizers. And then the carnage started. EWAR-Frigs on our side were dieing left and right as well as Ruptures from Hun. Thanks to some good target calling from the Tempest Pilots and the disciplined work of the Griffins/Maulus we ended up here winning this match as well.
Final Day: Ev0ke vs Cry Havoc
After we surprisingly came this far in the tournament we just quick checked what Cry Havoc was flying in the past 2 Matches. It was somehow obviously for us that they will bring the same setup again and so they did. We on our side decided that it's time for a complete change of strategy again and to finally use our joker setup we held back so long. It was a setup build for absolute domination of cap-warfare based on a solid dual-logistic tank. It consisted of 1x Ashimmu, 1x Curse, 2x Guardian and 1x Abaddon. Both the Curse and the Ashimmu were fully neutralizer fitted. So this setup had to prove it's worth against the rock-solid setup of Cry Havoc inluding 3x Dominix and 1x Guardian.

After the warpin to the Arena both teams were around 50km off each other. Directly at the start of the fight the Dominix's dropped Sentry Drones which immediatly started to work on our Guardians. Our Abaddon tried to snipe the sentrys as fast as it could to eliminate the possible damage potential. The Cry Havoc Team closed the Gap betwen us pretty fast and launched another wave of heavy drones on one of our Guardians. It was pretty effective together with the Neutralizers applied to the other Guardian. Although our Abaddon started it's smartbomb and began to work on this drones. Finally the situation gets more and more under our control because the Dominix's were caped out by our Curse and Ashimmu pretty well. Now we started our offensive and tried to keep the Domi's caped out while shooting the Guardian. Although the lack of a Target Painter in our setup and the low signature radius off the Guardian killed that plan. So we switched the target to a Dominix and tried to cap out the other two Domi's as well as the Guardian. This showed some good effect pretty soon and gave us the confidence that this is the right tactic. In the end we were only able to kill one of the Domi's shortly before the time for the match was run out. But hey - a Abaddon with only 6 Mega Pulse Lasers T2 isn't that much damage at all and shooting with that on an armor tanked Domi with 3 1600mm Plates and 3 EANM2 is normally pointless anyway. So our cap control/destruction strategy worked quite good even if it wasn't the best match to view because a lack of explosions.
Final Day: Ev0ke vs Triumvirate
So we ended up as one of the finalists. We just watched Tri's semi-final and decided to go into the final with full offense again. We simply wanted to deliver a good show because we simply couldn't loose anything anymore. So we just quick checked what setup we still have in the hangars from the group stages and came up with the setup again that we used in our 3th group match against destiny. 1x Harbinger, 1x Nano Curse, 6x Ruptures and 1x Vigil. After we entered the fight system again we quickly checked what Triumvirate has brought out this time and it was quite amazing to see that they are using a completely offensive setup as well - 3x Megathrons, 2x Maulus, 4x Griffin, 1x Caldari Navy Hookbill.
We warped in on 30km distance towards the beacon and ended up around 40km of the enemy frigates and around 20km towards the Megathrons into another direction. We decided to go with the Ruptures and the Curse for the frigates in first place even if it cost's us our Harbinger because it would be probably get approached and webbed by the Megathrons. We also assigned groups for the ECM-Drones we have stored in the Ruptures to be used in a coordinated manner. With the "FIGHT" signal in local we started to burn to the enemy frigs and killed them off quite good. Although as foreseen we lost our Harbinger also pretty fast together with one Rupture. After all frigates were done we assigned the ECM-Drones to 2 Megathrons and started to kill the 3rd one which was tracking disrupted by some Ruptures and the Curse. Unfortunately one of the Mega's had a Smartie fitted which eleminated our ECM-Drones quickly. We lost Rupture after Rupture but making good progress on the Mega's as well. In the end probably all of you have seen it anyway we were left with one enemy Mega and the Curse, a Rupture and a Vigil on our side. The lonely Rupture managed it to get out of Webrange of the Mega with some help of the Curse. Afterwards it tried to kill all the drones that were working on him before he dies. Finally he managed to get back into the fight on an out of web orbit and killing the Megathron together with the Curse, which held the Megathron low on cap. It was an amazing final with a lot of explosions and at least something we'll remember for a long time.

♥ Ev0ke, couldn't have lost to a better bunch of guys.
Believe it or not, my first ever PVP was flying as an IRON resident under G alliance so it seems fitting for me that you won!
Congratulations!
