I'm in the middle of the New Frontiers mission - All the briefings are corrupt. Is this a known problem, becuase it's not a rookie mission, it's level 3.
In addition, Alt-Tabbing between 2 accounts doens't always work.
Thanks FL

For me, the UI bug doesn't just happen when (un)docking. It happens everytime I close a window. Use my wallet, windows jumble. Use the market, windows jumble. Change a skill, windows jumble. Scanner, jumble. Bookmarks/addressbook, jumble. Are you getting the picture? Those "few extra seconds" really add up when you're rearranging your UI about once a minute.
In addition, my overview reverts back to the profile I was using the last time I logged off before the patch...which, unluckily, was one that shows only stations and players whom I set to low standings.
Finally, I still have the crazy clock bug. I've already crashed several times due to that one, and I've only been online a couple ours since the patch.
The only issue that affected me that I think is actually fixed (at least I haven't crashed to desktop yet) is the Show Info bug. The other ones are still there, plus now there are new ones. I will not show gratitude for a patch that did not change how (un)playable the game is for me.

would be nice to get the 1152x864 resolution back. i cannot see any sense nor reason to buy a new monitor for this issue. btw, this change wasn't written in the patchnotes. at last i would ask for the "jumping" overview-bugfix.
best regards and i apologize for any inconvenience caused^^ fell~

I agree, people seem to forget that the folks at CCP worked for almost 24 hours straight to get this boost patch onto the servers, while all some of you are doing is whining... But yes, there are bugs. Yes, this is normal. And yes, it will get fixed. Now go out and enjoy real life for a few hours!

Everybody wants a customer like you mate... Please note that people try to tell CCP about still existing problems here cause of the fix coming up soon. What did you expect? There are other topics to praise CCP (which it may or may not earned) and theres absolutely no need for you to come here and diss people for simply using the topic. brgrds

While i agree that they might have worked for 24 hrs to get the patch running, the real thing is if it was tested properly there should not be a hot fix to correct the problems the patch caused. Inadequate testing causes problems like this. Some people can not get out due to physical problems and have friends they only can communicate with online during the game play. Maybe they have a real life playing the game and talking with friends.

I disagree. Bugs are not normal, bugs are faults. Even more so for MAJOR bugs which either haven't been there before or creeped back with the patch again. Fixing one thing while breaking another is as bad as not doing anything.
I agree with the views of some people in the original patch thread, saying that CCP should work hard on improving their testing and quality assurance process. There are surely mutiple ways that I'm not going to try to name here as I'm not a software expert. It's just a matter of how good your methods are and how many resources you put in. However as long as CCP are not penalized for creating this kind of mess and subsequent lost playtime/in-game assets/frustration for many people, they will not be pushed to improve on it.
I don't understand people who are defending CCP in their inability to deliver a working product to us, the paying customers. This is not a charity game, nor a freeware product created by a bunch of enthusiasts in their free time. CCP is a business company like any other. Customers have the right to expect high quality product delivered to them. CCP should not expect the customers to fix the issues for them (by telling them what they screwed up, basically).
Don't get me wrong, I have great respect for what CCP have accomplished with EVE, and I'm not saying it's an easy thing to develop as it grows ever more complex. I also value the relationship they have established with their customers in joint development of this great game. But that's not an excuse for repeatedly failing on the same thing. CCP should do whatever they need to do to improve on the quality side of their patches, even if it means increased cost and customers bearing that cost if the need be. Otherwise with ever growing complexity and player base this problem will only become bigger, not smaller.

Try setting your desktop resolution to 1152x864. I don't have the link to the dev post at hand, but one of them wrote that the desktop rez will always be added back to the list of available screen modes. |

edit: Evemon can't access info from server = little burden for ppl like me that have 3 or more chars.

CCP Still hasn't learned anything! Another extended downtime a day after the troubled booster patch and now their rushing to fix problems. I won't be surprised if something else breaks during the process. C'mon CCP put some QA process in because there isn't any despite what ever they're saying.

There also seems to be a problem now in changing screens,( takes a while to change/hangs and freezes and even crashes with an ccp erro message) to my alts account. I also keep getting a ccp error message of a runtime error.
These problem have only just started after the new patch.

unfortunately, my fried there are some bugs that only show up when the system is put under stress. eve's server side software is incredibly complex and that means that until it hits mainstream there WILL be issues that the devs cannot foresee. while i don't like the DT myself, i do understand the problems brought on by putting changes in such a software. unlike some other MMO's at least the eve dev team seems to care about the software and the community's reaction to it.
Don't worry, be happy.

How do you figure that. This week so far we have paid for 5 days gametime. So far we have recieved 2 and a half. Yes things go wrong sometimes, agreed!. however what annoys me is they delayed the boot patch a day for further testing and then completely screwed it up.As a customer the service is poor. They would do better stop adding silly welcome page windows to the game and fix the core problems they have with it. I would rather have a game that is playable rather than one that looks nice but is unplayable
Thats another 3 hours of our money gone! QUAM - Hot dropping a system near you soon

Those patches are so not ok for us players, we are all paying well & are paying for mistakes made by ccp with our own money.
I cant Imagine to that my clients would pay me for my mistakes by just my faulth.
CCP should at least extend GTC for one day to everyone with every patch like that, because we cant play at that time at all.
I would be nice to do something in exchange for us players.

I hope they put a 'SORT name ASC' back into the SQL query for the market quickbar. ie, please put the market quickbar back into alphabetical order ASAP! There's lots of people complaining about the overview problems and the ALT key, but please don't forget about the traders.... and that quickbar sort must be a simple thing to quickly fix, no ???
Quick fix for CCP, major time saver for a lot of traders...

WTF!!!
You have a whole thread full of serious errors to fix, and you choose THESE?????
* Multiple clients not working * Client memory leaks * BSOD's * UI windows moving randomly (sometimes off window edge) * Disappearing icons from overview and space view * Drastic client CPU usage increase * Drastic FPS decrease * Numerous graphics glitches ... etc.
So lots of really serious issues, and you choose to focus on new missions and civilian modules??? The person who does your prioritising should stop drinking.....

Ungrateful? CCP should be grateful that there are still a lot of people complaining instead of moving on to another game. People are complaining because they still care about this game. The moment the customers stop to care these guys will become unemployed. They messed up big time even though they took a extra day to "test" the patch... and a lot of bugs are almost impossible to miss. You can mess up as much as you like, but if you actually deploy something like this patch, you and everyone who approved the deployment would get canned in every other company. Please refrain from moderating on the discussion forums. |

I just cannot understand you guys. Really!!!
(Almost) none of us could ever afford error free software. Thats NASA quality, testing cost about 10-50 times development.
I think EVE has a good balance. We get new feature for decent cost. They really put an effort in when we have problems.
I am sure they could give away extra days on payment when they have issues, but i am just as sure that they then would have to up the monthly cost to cover it. It's the same money you know.
So lets support their work instead of whining like we're all 7-yearolds with no understanding of cost/benefit.

Most of the problems I agree need sorted.
The fact CCP are working their assess off I also agree with.
The fact that this patch should have been tested more accurately, I agree with.
The fact we have only had 2.5 days of played time I agree with.
List goes on....
BUT.... Much better service than Blizzard! Blizzard suck **** all the time...can't get anything right and don't really listen to players. CCP DO LISTEN to the players, despite the fact sometime it takes them a while to fix them (or screw things up in the process).
Once again - BLIZZARD SUCK.

I payed for a game, I payed for it to play when ever I feel like playing it.. First off these down times.. who is gonna compensate the DT times? Total time of DT's per month is 30 hours.. 1 day and 6 hours out of the 30 day time code gone.. who is going to compensate that? Then there are these extended downtimes like the one today, 14 of marth, and extra 4 hours.. And the patch instalation, why do you have to install it in the expence of our game play time, for which we have all payed. And the 12-24 hour patch instalation delay????? are you serious?? Why do you ALWAYS encounter problems when installing something, or changing something?
Total time lost this month: 70 hours of game play time.. 3 whole days gone out of the 30 which were bought.. Who is going to compensate that? And what is your problem? Can't you do anything right? everytime when you install something we all get extended delays.. and sometimes huge delays..
So stop lying and write that for our 20 euros (which is 30$) we will get 26-28 days or less of game play, depending on your quality of work..
And what is this stupid idea of a monthly charge?? and an even more stupid idea of the daily downtime..
Now tell us, who is going to compensate our time loss?

Compensation doesn't always mean money, unless that's the only thing you think about. That correct way to implement compensation in this situation is to simply add the downtmie to the all valid accounts currently active. Great, Friday night and the servers are down all night (well, until 2am ). I am not about to ask for reimbursment as I know it won't happen.
What I will ask is that you fix the ****ty bug that causes all my windows (overview / drones / selected item etc) all stack up when I undock or change session. It is easily the most annoying bug to date and seems to be the one CCP are ignoring no matter how many times it comes up, nor how many mentioned it during testing and in bug reports.
