I was just thinking that it would be useful to be able to convert your loyalty points in one NPC to another NPC. For example from Minmatar Navy to Caldari Navy.
This could be done via calculations which would take into consideration both a players skill and standings between two different NPCs.
The Skill Introduce a skill which when trained will reduce the penalty of converting LP between two NPC. Perhaps reducing the penalty by 5% each level. It would be a social skill with a high rank.
The Penalty Obviously you need a penalty for converting. So perhaps a 30% loss of your LP in the conversion. Of course training the New Skill will reduce this penalty.
The Calculation New NPC Points = 1 - (Penalty - New Skill Percentage) - Some Standing * LP from Old
Example (with LVL3 in the New Skill) and a 9.0 standing between New NPC and Old NPC New NPC Points = 1 - (0.3 - 0.15) * 0.9 * 50,000 LP New NPC Points = 1 - (0.15) * 0.9 * 50,000 LP New NPC Points = 0.85 * 0.9 * 50,000 LP New NPC Points = 0.765 * 38,250 LP
Meaning you would put in 50,000 and be able to convert it to 38,250.
Limitations Obviously you would only be able to convert LP between NPC Factions which have a positive standing.
What this could do for the game Instead of people crowding the best agents for one particular NPC Corporation, so they can get LP to spend on the best LP Store Options. They can find another excellent quality agent in a different corporation, then trade the LP.
Although this may not disperse some mission running area. It will give them options to escape the lag.

Why not just have all agents use the same LP store?, problem solved.
IMHO, I don't think this would have the effect you are looking for.
It would only help those that realize that they have been doing missions for the wrong Faction, according to their needs.

No. The name is Loialty Points, not Reward Points.
They are there for the good work done for that corporation. At most it could be possible to trade them within the same corporate group (same faction) and with a huge loss, never, ever within other factions.
You can be as much appreciated as you want by the US Army, and they will be likely to bend some rules to sell a surplus military vehicle (to use outside the country), but that will give no influence on the Chinese Army.

Edited by: Leela Onios on 18/03/2008 08:26:06 in ur scenario u imply the chinese army would have no influence or standing with the us army. i mentioned this. you should only be able to do conversions between positive standing factions.
and while they may be loyalty points, allies trade all the time.
