A Star of blood

Following the disappearance of what looked like a bright star, visible from all systems, we assigned the best scholars of the Bloodveil Temple Library with the task of finding answers in the Apocryphon. As you know, the apocryphon is not only written in an ancient language of which we have limited knowledge to this day but most of all, it uses advanced concepts that don't really have obvious equivalents in any of our current languages.
As such, translating fragments of the Apocryphon is always a very complex and lengthy endeavour as the real sense of these symbols could have been completely misunderstood. We leveraged at best the elements that the Sisters of Eve gathered last year during their own studies on the Apocryphon to help us to decrypt this particular fragment that could be of interest to you. We tried to render is litteraly, the unclear symbols have been phonetically written between brackets.
Our Sovereign also analyzed the fragment in the light of the Phenomena and it would appear that the translation would fit like this:
The essence of existence [what is pure existing and never began to exist] was ripped off the Universe. [l'GhSr] withdrew his mighty arm because of what it had become. Because of the power they had gathered, because of their failures, because they had forgotten to make themselves [l'Ghdr'm] (like Gods), he withdrew his mighty arm sheltering them.
A Veil of Blood fell on the Universe. The star opened on it's own light, the space became solid and crushed all matter. Time itself slowed down and sank into oblivion. The essence was removed from it's core and returned to [l'GhSr] because of what it was yet to come. Matter and time imploded [shrank to the limit of existence] as the essence left them.
The matter of their planets, the souls inside their bodies, the time they were in, the impact they had on [kar'm(s] (the order of universe) was cancelled and returned to [l'GhSr] so that not even memories could be kept of them until its return.

It is curious how quick so many sects are speaking about the star. It is easy to see it as an omen, and a religious one too, but we must not yet get carried away into a religious epiphany over an unknown event. There are thousands of unexplained events in our cluster. Of course, this is quite an spectacular one, but it is too soon to start bringing out the dusty and often not completely understood texts of different religions (including the formal amarrian one). And, of course, it also includes Maccaper's Prophecies.
Religion is always the first and easiest way to explain the unknonw. But yet, that doesn't mean it is a direct action of God.

Right,, if i get this right,, the Amarr holybook, the Apocryphon, says that this star is an omen regarding the death of all (infidels?).
So if it ends up that we don't all die,, that's SCIENTIFIC and LOGICAL proof that the Apocryphon is to be regarded as worth nothing more than the smoldering paper it's written on??
Just a thought,,

it hasnt been proven WRONG, this is just proof that it is not RIGHT. It hasnt got a time scale on the star going out, it could be yet another millennia before anything like an armageddon day happens. --- The Cake Is A LIE?!?! |

As explained by my Director, the Crowned Prince Jahandar, the work of translation and interpretation of the book can be an extensive and hard work involving several schollars and methods.
This particular fragment was no different. As you can perceive there are still words with their original form and ancient amarrian language which I have received knowledge due to my upbringing inside the Tetrimon temples. Even the language was considered heretical by the Amarr Empire and banished from "existence" together with the book itself.
It appears to me that the fragment speaks of past and future. This fragment was found in between the book of prophesies and the Book of revelations, very tricky to be set exclusively on any of them. Perhaps the Ancients wished it to be so, for a reason.
And as any text, any book of subjective matters it will be interpreted with pre-conceptions, knowledge and social stigmas from the eyes of the beholder.
Does the book speaks of the first colapse of the eve gate? Does the book predicts the return of a "God" that perhaps caused this first clousure?
Are we all going to die? A new gate will be opened?
The words are written. We will read and find ourselves the answers.

Future can't be written.
Most of the holy books are in obscure languages that have to be interpreted. And how we do this? We look at what is happening and say 'look, it was in the book'. So, I can't believe this thing has future written, it is just so obscure that we translate it to be like what happens now.
If the facts don't follow what said your translation, you will just say that the translation was wrong and the book said exactly what is happening, making other assumptions on how to translate and a new translation that will look like the facts.
If you want to convince any of the people who can't believe in this, tell me what will happen next, and then we can say future was written in this book. For now, it's just interpreting again what is written to look like facts. -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

No I don't. The nature of faith is the same and it applies to all sort of beliefs; Sani Sabik, Amarr; Intaki, primitive minmatar tribal faith or whatever other: People follow their teachings because they feel them to be right for themselves. You can not convincea human about their faith; it's naturally giving.
The Holy Apocryphon was banned from Amarr Empire for a reason.

We, from Bloodveil believe that this knowledge is the true knowledge of the Amarr Race.
What others will believe? That's their problem, as long as they remain outside the temple. Fragments of the Apocryphon are rare to be shown to the public as people fear the consequences of it. My advice for readers is: take it as a rare opportunity for information. But make of it, what you will.

If i've gotta die because of some ancient prediction i'm leaving this world the same way I came in to this world...
Kicking and screaming.
I personally find it hard to believe in all this stuff, But I won't right it off as the writings of insanity. Stranger things have happened. Though if i've gotta wait a thousand years or whatever... Well then... I'll be rather disappointed. ------------------------------------- Anti-Slavery doesn't mean Anti-Amarr! |
